yeah, its nothing i would have paid for thats for sure. not really the FPS type game. i need more fingers to control the ship, fire weapons and boost whatever shield is low. maneuvering the ship is kind of lame, id rather do it from inside the bridge like in the previous ST games. i just finished the azuris mission. got my first extra bridge officer though.
of course my ship is the U.S.S. LiquidNinjas i either synthoh0l or synth O'Hol, i dont remember.

I have to scream now, looks like cryptic fixed the infinite repeat on the Kerrat war zone mission I guess it was supposed to be a daily mission, but, until recently, you could do the mission, pick it right back up and do it again ... now there's a cool-down timer preventing you from doing that It's going to take me forever to get the new ship.

Currently at 950 C-credits but the exchange has gone stupid thanks to the introduction of a couple of new ships. I was paying around 215 - 225 per credit, now it's no lower than 250. Couple this with what I said above, it's going to be a while before I hit 2000.

There are a few things like that though.. You could do the Kerrat missions, then the Borg Gateway mission, then the Crystalline entity one etc etc.. Not quite the same, but might be a bit more doable than just doing the Kerrat missions once a day.

Also, have you tried selling things for energy credits on the exchange? My housemate made 90,000 credits in a day by finding something that was being sold very cheaply from an in game store, and was selling for more in the exchange. He bought out the whole lot, and then sold it all, and managed to still undercut everyone else selling the same item.

I don't have a problem with energy credits really, I can easily make lots of them through missions or even the PvP warzones which drop some decent stuff (if in a level appropriate zone). Problem is you can't exchange energy credits for dilithium or cryptic credits, I had a few million and just ended up buying XII equipment and weapons for my ship.

Also, something you may, or may not have noticed. In the Kerrat warzone (which you have to do 3 times to complete the mission). To do it real quick you can switch instances once you've completed it. When you do that it doesn't put you in a level appropriate zone so you can literally fly on top of the borg and they don't do anything LOL Plus everything in there is so low level you can destroy it in seconds. You can complete the entire mission in minutes this way .. probably why they put the cooldown timer on since people are no doubt exploiting it to get the dilithium quick.

Another good thing is alts, the cryptic credits are shared over all your alts (dilithium and energy credits are not).

Ok, hang on - so you switch instances, and then do the kerrat mission and it doesn't adjust to your level?!

Change sector instance, or kerrat mission instance?

Ok, when you are IN the warzone, you've scanned the 8 transmission things and destroyed 4 repair cubes it comes up that you've completed it. As soon as you are out of combat you should see the option to depart the system at the bottom right, don't click it and don't wait for the timer to countdown for the new instance to restart. At the top right it tells you where you are , like Kerrat Warzone (or something like that) and an instance number. If you click on it the option to change instance will appear, click that and you'll have a list of all available instances, click one and there you go. Obviously sometimes you'll jump into one that's already complete, just keep switching until you find one that isn't. Note that you can switch whenever you like as long as you are not in combat.

About the level thing, you remain the same level, but the instance (for some reason) is something like level 1. This means you can fly around without having to worry about the borg even attacking you. The downside is any loot you get is also level 1 loot so not worth much, but if you're only after Dilithium like I am then that's not a concern.

Do you guys still play STO?

I actually bought the collectors edition, really cheap. Really only got it for the comm badge LOL The bonuses I got were cool I suppose, about the only real good thing was the free credits you get, which I put with that I already had to buy another ship.

I'll be honest though, this game gets boring real fast once you've hit level 50 (2 or 3 times LOL). I can see why it went F2P, there is little incentive to play once you hit max level. Apparently season 6 (which is due some time within the next few months) will introduce fleet starbases. That should be interesting and might hold peoples attention for a while ... and also drive the dilithium exchange rates even further through the roof

Oh well, rumor has it SW:TOR will be free to play soon enough

Well season 6 hit the servers a couple of days ago and, for the first time ever, people were queued up to even log into the game! The idea of fleet bases is cool, you start with a very basic base and you upgrade it with various things you get in game until you hit the next tier and your bases then looks cooler and has more things available inside (all the way up to tier 5).

The only issue with it is, and you can't blame them, this has a lot of "push them to spend real money on the game" written all over it. Like, at some point you can unlock fleet ships, but to purchase them you need to earn a LOT of fleet credits in game and then you'll need to spent C-Points (or Zen Credits as they are called now) as well to get it. I think it's like 200,000 fleet credits + 2000 Zen points to buy a fleet ship! (2000 Zen being around $25 IIRC), apparently if you own a C-Store variant of the ship you only have to pay a further 500 Zen points (not the 2000), but still it's kinda pricey. Like I said, you can't blame then because it is a business and they need to make money, yes you can technically grind in game to earn Dilithium to convert to Zen points so won't have to spend real money. But the grind is long and soul sucking, even more so in a game that kinda does get boring at max level anyway LOL
