Cliff's notes: Most smartphones have an internal service baked into the firmware that under the disguise of and admin tool can gather tons of info about you, including keylogging, without you knowing. While it could be a valid admin tool the amount of information it can collect is staggering. Verizon is the only network that will admit it exists and did send out a optout email a while back.

If you are rooted and running a different ROM there is a chance the developer has already pulled it out but you should check just in case. If you have a stock phone depending on the phone it may or may but be able to be removed/optout of it.
