Best choice for GPU?

Taking informal poll. Best GPU for 2.4/800/512 P4 running on Abit IC7G Max 2 with Thermalltake 500w PurePower. Looking to spend < $100

8800GT? Anything much more than that and you'll be bottlenecked by the CPU/RAM..

Ah ok! I'd just go for the highest power GPU that you can find then.. 7950 maybe? GX2?!

Hey this is dlobue's son, would you recommend this card at all?

http://cgi.ebay.com/512MB-PNY-VERTO-...item5d2818341e

I'm looking to spend the money I have to get that so I can play Spore again and so we can use our Flat HP Monitor.

The minimum video specs for Spore are pretty low if you know the game. 128 MB is the least required.

You'd be better off with something like a 6800 - much better than the 7300. Although, if you get the DDR3 version, they are little rockets for the price! DDR2 version is a waste of time though..

Ah, well I already ordered it, It's pretty much an upgrade of the NVIDIA GeForce Card we currently have, but is well outdated, since we got it back in 2004. I don't even really want the best card out there, just a decent one that can run average games like Spore well, not to mention this thing will make Unreal Tournament 2004 run super smooth like the card I had in the main PC.
That PC is pretty much shot, but I'm pretty sure we could restore it if we got the proper restore discs for it. That card doesn't fit though, since it's a PCI card. I'm still pretty new with how hardware works, but I'm learning pretty quickly.

On HP: ATI Radeon 600X Series, pretty sure that's only 128 MB.

On the Custom PC: NVIDIA GeForce, maybe 64MB, I don't know what series it is.

Nice

Well, the one I ordered should arrive this Wednesday. Yeah I know there's much better cards out there, I just saw this one for a good price and that's pretty decent. So far my PC Specs are:

Motherboard: ABIT IC-7 Max II Advance.

CPU: Intel 4, 2.41 GHz, can be overclocked.

Ram/Memory: 1 GB (1024 MB)

Hard Drives: 300 GB from HP Media Center PC, and my 149 Gig Hard Drive in an external enclosure, basically an external USB Hard Drive .

Other Drives: 2 DVD Readers, should move one of the DVD Burners from the HP, and a Floppy Drive.

PSU: 500 W, originally for the HP.

I think that's about it. The only other card I have installed is a USB card and that outdated Video card. The Motherboard has onboard graphics and audio, so that's pretty sweet.

Yeah thanks

It's pretty sweet since I'll be killing 2 birds with one stone, as getting the card will not only let me play Spore and other games, but I'll be able to use that sweet HP monitor since this video card only has the VGA port.
