I guess this one 'buzz' will just have to shop elsewhere. If they can't compete with online sales, thats just more business for me!

Why have discount policies and price matching if you're just going to complain about it?

And thats funny, the part about trying to sell more warranties 'and other profitible services'. Its damn near impossible to buy something at bestbuy without getting lambasted about a warranty. Its a farking PS2 controller. I dont need a warrantee :P

I have been hit up on buy warranties that cost more that the item i bought from best buy. I have spent a lot of money on stuff from best buy in the last 5 to 10 years. Some at retail some at discounts or rebates, they start to push away the discounts I may not have reason to go in a buy the other stuff at regular price.

my 2 cents

geez lol.. I'm might be going to pick up a 6800 OC from them for $299 and if they offer me a warranty i'ma tell em i'll have it void as soon as I put in my pc!

I don't think any of my parts have warranties anymore :D

LOL wes.. don't get 6800OC, they come with 128Mb ram and are usually not good O/Cers.

anywayz, BestBuy bought the Canadian "Bestbuy wannabe" chain called Futureshop, all of it.. and now Futureshop is following the same tactics and tricks :(.. Also BB recently opened three new BestBuys in Vancouver alone within last 2 months

Warranty? What the fark is a warranty? ;)

I dunno, this is really shady... "We're going have lots of deals to get the suckers into the store, but if you're smart enough to figure out what's a good deal and what isn't, we don't want your business." Sheesh...

It's kinda like back when card-counting first became a big thing - the casino's position basically became "you're only allowed to play if you don't know how to play".

How about best buy kisses my big middle finger? They seriously almost made me happy since they did a company make-over as in their staff policy, but I still had that "demon customer (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/07/05/national1332EDT0564.DTL)" phrase still stuck in my head. Now I am sure the only thing I would buy from them is something of diehard need in a state of emergency. Even then, I would still look for their rebates and specials so I can personally do my duty of returning the item and profiting the rebate off of them. Suck it Best Buy you greedy bastards!
