Ok, I like to go fast. I really, really like to go really, really fast. I just came back from a trackday at Pocono raceway where I was doing over 100 on some nascar banking.

I was fine with some maniac on a donorcycle lifting the wheel on a closed course but to do what they were doing on public roads is just plain fvcking stupid.

At least at the track the other people there hopefully can drive but the average bad driver at the track is far better than the average good driver on a public road. All it takes is one fool to change lanes and you're punted off the road and hopefully that can find enough pieces of you to fill a shoebox. You can eaisly cause harm to others on the road.

If you want to travel at those speeds, keep it on the track. I won't b.s. and say I travel the speed limit but even on a open road with no cars on it I try to keep it under 120 and that's only for short bursts. Trackdays are $200, tickets or death is much more expensive. ;)

its safer to race a bike than to drive normally on the street.

I would have to say that statement is false. On a bike you have to be much more aware of what's going on around you. You can't drive "normally" or you'll get punted off the road by some soccer mom in a 3 ton SUV but doing 120 through traffic will get you killed.

I think i wasnt so clear... "Its safer to race a motorcycle, then to operate a motorcycle on the road."

is what I meant

Ahh.... I got you now trip. :)

Still, donorcycles are a bit scary. Give me a nice crusier anyday.

I've spent lots 'o time on sportbikes but they make me go too fast for some reason. ;)

Give me a racecar anyday. At least I have some metal around me. I spend enough time sliding across pavement when I skateboard. At least that's only 30 mph at the most... not 120. :D

some of my favorite videos are bike racers who lose it then body surf the pavement 400-500 feet... get up and hop back on the bike to finish :)
