I have never had trouble changing front brakes before but now im stumped. I havent changed brakes in a few years and though maybe I simply forgot. This one has two bolts on the backside of the caliber and I cant get to budge. It is counter clockwise right? Im going to have to pick up a bigger ratchet so I can get some more torque on this sucker.
Facing the brake you want to turn right which is really turning the bolt left because your facing the opposite direction of the bolt? LoL see how I confuse myself.
I also learned the dangers of not using some kind of stand or cinder blocks today ......

are you changing pads? or rotors too??
to simply change pads, use the small bolts on the caliper after you use a screwdriver to slowly compress the piston back in. use the pad for leverage so it dosent cock the piston.
if you are changing rotors too then the big bolts going to the spindle are appropriate. put a pipe on a socket wrench for increased leverage, try to avoid a hammer because you will need 4 stiches to stop the bleeding. (don't ask)
yes from the bolt side lefty loosey- righty tighty:)

If its too tight for you to loosen right now, make sure you are using a 6pointed socked first. Use some Pblaster (which is a miracle at loosening parts)
But the 6 point socket is very IMPORTANT with a 12point you may strip or round off the bolt.
making the job 25x harder.

Yeah I have never encountered a caliper bolt that was short of a battle to get off.
I hope you didnt drop the car on anything important.!!
Even the wheel you took off, shoved under the car can avert disaster.
