Is there an easy way to disable the icon in the tray when running Seti driver? I found one way, Crash explorer and it doesn't show when explorer reloads :D I'd rather not do that if there is an eaiser way.;)

Hi Fara,

Not that I am aware of.

It is one of those things that will show. No option available.

May be a workaround I am not aware of tho.

Take care...........

If you have Windows XP, you can hide tray icons.

It's on my work box. It's 2k server and unless Lee or someone else says it's bad to end task explorer and start it again I'll do that.

Hi Tom,

The problem with hiding them is that you have to hide all of them.
You can also enable the hide unused icon function, but as soon as you use it, it takes a long time to activate again.

Take care......

PS........Thanx Fara, Closing in on 7100 now........

i belive it is possible as i know various people who have seti running with no icon, and rather than saying its seti in the processes bit of task manager, they have changed it to become the idle process :)

will ask da boss and she if she knows

hi

I have added another section to my sticky Liz's guide to SETI - I use this method to hide them at work - I dont like the NM one as you have to install extra bits and the less I have on servers at work the less likely someone is to find it :D

I've been crashing explorer to hide the icon. :D down and dirty but it works.

I was going through your sneaky NT/2k guide but I got lost. I can't find srvany.exe or instsrv.exe and even then I get lost in the console. I change to the seti dir but it still says c:\. Then again I'm trying to do this on my XP box so it might be different. Can you still use Setidriver? If we're not too busy at work I'll try it there. Hope I don't kill anything.:D
