No need for apologies, same happens to me :) Zeppelin can be played any time, but wives need to sleep at night.

Well, if u were on AIM I would have consoled you with a nice late night chat, but alas, I have to resort to typing on the boards.
Buzz kill is the operative word in my life lately man, but if I drink more, it usually goes away.
I don't get to play drums here, cause there is more than my wife that would mind, like the jehovah's that live above me and have sex 8 times a day (jehovah can't wait til they get pregnant so that stops) But I get the same thing. Right when I get into a groove, making some graphics, or writing some fake computer music, in comes the woman, who was supposed to have been out all night, and says "Can you turn it down, I have to watch my show."
If I was still livin in the bachelor pad, as before, and one of my housemates said said, I would have turned it up, but instead, I walked out there, and showed her where the volume button on the remote was, so she could turn it up too. Suffice it to say, dog house for me this weekend, but the dog house is where the good beer is.

you guys need some sound proofing and so do i :P , i don't have a wife but my neighbors can't stand the pounding i make when i hit the turntables. i need to buy my own house with a basement so i can turn it into a sound proof studio or something.

may sound daft but are those electric drumkits any good? might reduce your timber work needs?
just be glad you don't live in the UK a decent drum kit could annoy a whole street cos we're packed in so close ;)
if you need to escape and vent your frustration i have a load of walls that need knocking down, a 14 hour flight and a sledge hammer will sort you out ;)

heh heh... i have an idea about cutting the wooden bracing on the studwalling, sticking all my motorbike gear on and then just running through the walls... at the very least it will be very amusing :D

If they're studs all you need to take 'em down is a hacksaw blade... Just cut the nails holding the top/bottom plates in place, and down it goes. Of course, you do need to break 'em up if you want to get 'em out the door, but it's a great trick if you just want to move a stud.
As for running through - I wouldn't recommend it! The studs should be at 200mm intervals, braced with noggins at least every 750mm, and probably cross-braced diagonally with metal straps. ;)
