I just picked me up a PNY Ti 4200. All in all I love it. The package was really lean (the card, the book, and a CD) but for $199.00 it's not too bad.
So now I have my first Nvidia card. I dropped it in and got 10678 with my system @190. That more than doubles my scores with my Radeon :) Right after that I busted out the O/C tools and went at it. I tried Riva tuner first and had a little trouble with it so I want to Power strip and got it to 305/630 (see 3D mark link in sig) Anything higher and I get artifacts. The only thing that's bothering me is that I'm reading 53c with my digidoc then playing JK2  Ok, now to me that's pretty fargon hot. Before I even put it into my box I took the hsf off the card and lapped it and put some AS3 on it and I know the temp probe is on the core.
I can't seem to find any info on Nvida's site on safe temps but I'm still a little worried when my GPU's hotter than my CPU. Then again the pal8045 is a wee bigger than the Nvidia reference HSF ;) I have a blorb sitting around here. Would I be better off using that? I see VisionTech uses them on their 4200's. Thanks.
