My new block came with no directions and it seems the block is drilled off to one side. The DD web site won't bring up the install of maze3. I am putting it on A7V333 and am trying to find out if it matters which way this offset placed. Also while I have your attention(I hope) are the shims used on the XP2200 the same thickness as all the other shims from the past. TIA, Butch:drinky:

You know...I never really thought about that. I suspect you can mount it two ways. Im not sure if it makes a difference or not. I will try and find out.

Hi Butch,
I don't think it matters as to which way you mount it.
The offset is that way to accomodate most all mobo components.
You know that sometimes, it is very close to caps and such.
I STRONGLY recommend that you DO NOT use shims when installing any HSF.
In most cases, they cause more trouble than they stop.
Take care......

I'd avoid using a shim on your 2200. As long as you are nice and careful you should have no problems.:)

I found out that the holes closest to the edge go by the step of CPU socket. Reason is if you put it on the other way the block will lay on the step. Butch

Hi Butch,
Thanx for the update.
At least you got to answer your own question.
