Good games today, enjoyed every minute! Shame everyone seemed to dissapear off :confused: Im really happy with the way the server plays, even with 2-3 other people playing at the same time its still very playable from this side :2guns:

LOL, if I knew the server was up I would have gotten online sooner. Been playing on my PS2 for a while so didn't bother getting online until late.

I think everyone would have left due to them not being able to live long enough to put up some sort of fight LOL

Well, I got a few games in. Priest is in a class all by himself, and I'm rusty since I've been playing too many other games lol. Even at my best I dont think I could take him though.

I got a lot of practising to do.

She doesn't like FPS games, but either way it's impossible for her to play the game, not because she's crap at playing but she physically can't. I'll leave it at that :)

Yeah, no doubt with a few more players I may get a frag or two, depending on who's there. Still having trouble getting used to the dodge movement thing, keeps giving me all kinds of hell and I find myself stuck against scenary being torn to pieces LOL

My wife does pretty good in UT2003, but I havent installed UT04 on her machine yet since she doesnt have a dvd. She loves playing, but she gets dizzy playing 3d games so its a big production of taking drammaine and everything for her to play, and even then she gets fatigue/motion sickness.

Never expreienced that with unreal tournie's, or any other fps games on pc. The onyl game thats really made me feel liek that is timesplitters for the xbox. now that REALLY messed me up, couldnt play for more than 10-15 mins before i felt crazy :eek:

Im sure if youve got yours and the wifes machine networked her computer can access your dvd drive and install it that way. Thats wat ive done to install it on my other computer for my younger bro ;)

If there is gonna be a gathering on the server anytime this week i doubt i can make it, atleast until friday, im way behind on college work so theres gonna be no ut for me at all :(

Eh, I have so much on my mind lately I dont really have time to get practise in during the week. But I got a lot in this weekend. I was getting thrashed on almost every server I went to. WTH? Somethings goofy with my play lately. Plus, I suicide WAY too often. I never used to do that in 03?

lol, dont worry :) Its not your play at all. Most casual ut players have become very 'l337' tbh, i think due to them playing 2k3 alot, and now moving to 2k4 where thay can refine their skills more. Infact it almsot seems way to easy for people to get 'l337' as everone seems to be doing it. Theres hardly a server anymore that i can win comfortably on. I was playing on a european server the other night on DM 1on1 spirit and i got a good kicking! i think it was 27-2. It didnt help with the fact that the person i was playing was using the dark skin that youve recently changed to p0, but still thats not the point, this person was really quite amazing, i felt helpless alot of the time :(

Anyway, once you start playing more online you pick up alot of experience and little 'tricks' here and there. Most people seem to improve vastly within 1-2 weeks if they play around 2 hours a night or so ;)

That dark skin is BEYOND unfair lol. I litterally do badly every time I come up against it. I cranked my Gamma up tho, its helped alot.

Yea, there is a way to combat it though, ive yet to try it out . . . maybe it ill help. Apparently the bright skins mod for 2k3 is already included in 2k4 . . .

To activate make the following changes to User.ini:

[UnrealGame.UnrealPawn]
PlacedCharacterName=Gorge

[XGame.xPawn]
PlacedCharacterName=Gorge
PlacedFemaleCharacterName=Rylisa

Make the following changes to UT2004.ini:

[UnrealGame.DeathMatch]
bForceDefaultCharacter=True
bColoredDMSkins=True

Add this section to UT2004.ini :

[UnrealGame.DMMutator]
bBrightSkins=True

And change false to true here:

[UnrealGame.DeathMatch]
bColoredDMSkins=True
bAllowPlayerLights=True

Like ive said, havent tried it yet, but when iget a bit of free time to have a fiddle i'll give it a try :)

I just got done playing through a few rounds with the above ini settings, and I must say, I much prefer the way I had it before. Not sure if I have just gotten used to the darkness of the skins, but I was having more trouble seeing em this way. They were also all the same model, which does take away a little from the fun. priest, you are the hardest for me to see out of anyone, so I just have to get used to you, and get better myself, and I may finally have a chance.

Is that because of the skin im using, ill change it to brock if you want, he's fairly bright so you should see him better :)

You dont have to have all the skins running around as gorge, just dont make any changes with this section :

Saying as ive finished college for the next two weeks due to easter hols, how about we get soem serious gaming going! Would be great to get everyone together on the LN server! P0, if we can arrange an exact time to get the server up and running, no one should have any problems joining in!

Although my fave gametype is DM/TDM i dont think there would be any harm in playing some CTF, ONS (smaller maps depending on numbers) and AS :cool3:

Look forward to some late, and great frag filled evenings :2guns:

Well if we can get some games going I'll be up for it ... much prefer to play ONS but will play the other game types so everyone gets to play something they excell at :)

One thing though is time, we just put out clocks forward by an hour over here in the UK (so now we're further ahead than some parts of the US) ... don't know which states do and which states don't.

I think we should set up some predetermined gaming nights. That would be the easiest on me.

Im good pretty much anytime after 8 on the weekdays and anytime after noon is good for the weekends for me. You guys are the ones with the worse off time constraints, so it will have to be determined by you guys :)

How about Saturdays at like 1PM and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm?

Well just about any day and any time is fine with me. Obviously factor in the 5 hour time difference and I'd prefer not to start a game after 9pm, with 8pm being the prefered "last call" time for a game :)

So your times sound ok to me. Better see what everyone else thinks.

Sounds good to me! And thats your time- right?
Being the lazy student i am, im good to play almost anytime, just not crazy hours of the morning (4am) :D

Saturdays at that time is good, ill be tucking into pizza by then, so greasy fingers might give you guys a free frag here or there :P

Don't let my constraints hold anyone back from playing whenever. Those are the times that the Mrs. ok'd, but you can be damn sure I will be playing whenever I get a free second. Usually after she goes to bed is good too, but you UK folk are long since gone by then.

Great game all. I seemed to do better as the Heineken kicked in, but I just can't get over priest's ability to lay the proverbial SMACK all the way down on most of us. Half the time I can't even see you, and I realize it isn't the skin, it is just that you are too fast. From now on, you should only be able to use the shield gun. That way you are protected when I throw my useless Lightning Gun at you.

Lol, great games last night, but damn was i nacared for work this morning :rolleyes: Can't remember what keys you said you use P0, but as i said ASWD or a varient (SDEF, DFRG) are wat the majority of 'semi pro' and 'pro' use. Really comfortable after long periods of time aswell :) Im really starting to like 1 on 1 albatross now. I dont normally play that map and had doubts at first but its a great map for 3-6 people.

As you can see i really do suck at ONS . . . i suppose teams where unbalanced alot of the time, and my map knowledge for the ONS gametype is bad, but still i suck big time. Deffinetly need more practice :2guns:

Sounds like me and deathmatch, lol. I feel like some nights my aim is better than others. I may just kick my graphics down a notch to up the fps a little. It's not bad right now, but I figure, the game is usually moving so fast, I don't really notice that a bullet hole stayed on a wall for 30 seconds, or a patch of grass blowing in the breeze. Maybe a little FPS boost will help a bit, along with some practice. Gonna order me a new mouse too, this one is driving me bonkers, Tough to find decent gaming mice for lefty's, but I found one called the Razer Viper which looks pretty hot. Simple, but effective. Someday I will be able to kill you on purpose priest.

Yea i would say its a good idea to run the settings lower to your frames in game :) I can run teh game in highest settings and still enjoy 60fps+ for the most part, but ti does drop below it sometimes which is why i run with most tick boxes off, and deatails between normal-higher. Gives me a solid fps and because i have my fps capped at 85 (i think) theres no big changes in fps so it always runs very smooth, never dropping below 65 :cool3:

I dont really care for highest details anyhow, i prefer a clean look, allows me to spot people much easier at distance, and generally improves my gameplay.

Being a lefty does make choosing a good mouse hard. The are plenty of quality mice out there but i think most are designed with a right handed user in mind . .:(

That's the beast. It should help with doing graphics too. I need to really take some time to get my key bindings setup, but I have yet to find any good lefty configurations. I was spectating u a little bit last night, and noticed how fluidly you switched between weapons. I need to set up some kind of good config.

Now I know this isn't the most effective use of keys. The whole left side of the keyboard is open, but hard to reach. The number keys are great in Onslaught and CTF games, but useless in DM, at least command wise. Any suggestions on a better grouping? I want to get into some alias stuff too, but I know that it's a very grey area in the community of whether it is cheating or not.

I have problems dodging left with my left ring finger no matter where that key is ;) And I cant dodge right and use secondary fire. So I need some adjustments in my keys for sure.

Unfortunately, thats gonna set me back a bit.

If you have problems that cant be resolved using your current setup change, or adapt :) Chaging might well set you back a bit, but its better than not bein able to do certain things at all! I hated it when iwent from arrows to ASWD, but after some time to get used to it i was better than ever, good luck with your changes P0!

I do most of my weapons switching with mousewheel, but with weapons that are furtehr away than a couple of mouse scrolls a use my binds.

For you i would suggest using JKIL, or KLO: as movement keys, just like mine, but for leftys, with space as jump, then you can place lots of weapons binds etc around them! I would even say its better as you have lots more free keys around to bind to, good for bot commands ;)

So per your idea, I now have K,L,; and O as my movement, and even tho it is feelin wierd right now, I know it will work much better. Having jump right below is pretty handy, I will just have to figure out where to put everything else.
