Why I wore two different shoes to work on monday (not 56k friendly)

After this weekend I was so damn tired I ended up wearing two different shoes to work. The best part was the first person to notice wasn't me. :D

I spent the weekend at AZP working on cars..... the whole weekend. I think I managed maybe 7 hours of sleep from Fri-Sun. Some of it was under cars and most of it was in the office. It was all worth it. I was part of building a pretty amazing car. It's one of the few allmost all JDM Ver7 STi in the tri state area. Yes, Subaru has a STi for sale in the USDM but that's the Ver8. The one we get is US only. The Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) gets a different one.

When we got it most of the interior and exterior was done. We just had to add the heart. The owner had a Ver7 STi motor imported. The JDM gets all sorts of neat stuff like variable valve timing. :)

Here's the beast. There is a "rule" in japan that motors can't make more than around 280HP. Subaru says it makes that but it makes closer to 300+. That's my blue sleeping bag in the back. ;)

Wow thats awesome. How much was that mod worth?

How much did it cost? I think the engine was 4k alone.

How much power does it make? I have to wait till he gets it dynotuned. I'm thinking over 300 to the wheels.

What gearset? Regular, STi RA? That's huge HP if it's making 300 to the wheels, wrx drivetrain = 25%+ loss...

Good and bad news. The timing belt jumped and wrecked the motor. :( Grouppe-S is sending a replacement and we have to do it all over again.

The good news is the replacement is free but labor is not. :(

I don't know exactly what happened. The customer had the car when it broke, we've yet to see the car.

Another thing that sucks is that they have 2 tuners being flown in for a weekend of dyno tuning. Now we're undrer the gun to get it done in time. :(
