I run XP on my main box, 2k on my server, and 98se on my 200mhz intel box 'cause I'm having trouble with Linux. :)

I will give in... XP is the best OS from mickeysoft thus far. I complained about it a lot at first, but as the clock ticks I am realizing it is the most stable and high quality OS they have. I have not gotten any freeze, BSOD, or hang on shutdown... since I reinstalled. Basically not one error... except for creative software, which I have NEVER seen to work correctly. Just being honest

I use win2k and XP, but i prefer 2K - does that mean i choose 2K on the poll?

I use Xp at home and at work. I don't think it gets any better!

I'm using Win2k mostly these days. Win9x usually runs out of resources when I open a dozen or so IE instances ruling it out. Win2k is finally mature enough that I don't have compatability problems with it.

And XP's activation makes it useless for me since I tinker with hardware too much. Having said that, if it wasn't for activation I would probably use XP after turning off all the excess stuff and make it look like win2k. :D

Hi All,

I have 2 systems on XP and one on Win2K at home.

I am unable to vote, get error message: "The action you have attempted could not be performed as your session appears to be invalid. Click the below link to attempt this action again with a new session."

I am logged in and all, and get it on two different systems here at work, so, here is my unofficial vote.......XP!!

Take care..........

The poll program has determined that you are a MS employee and therefore ineligible to vote;)

Mackrel, I mess with different HW all the time and I've never had to re-activate. I think it uses the MAC address on the N.I.C. somehow to base the activation# on. If you keep the same N.I.C it should give no problems.

Do what I did in the begining. Dual boot 2k and XP and see how it goes.:)

I have used XP for a fair while, but various minor niggles got to me. I'm sure it'll be great after a few more rounds of tweeks and fixes. In a way, similar to my switching to Win2k. I used ME for a long while before I drove it into the ground and made the change to 2k. Early on, there was verly little support if any for the hardware I had on 2k. It was only after I got newer hardware could it make full use of my hardware.

When I was using XP, it was not in a situation where I would have to worry about changing hardware. That can not be said of my home setup where I change stuff a lot. "If it ain't broke, tweek it..."

I use XP. I had to re-activate when I installed this new CPU, mobo, and RAM. The activation process took about 10 seconds over a LAN connection (although my true bandwidth is usually only around 60-100k).

XP is by far more stable than 9x. I'm seriously considering picking up a copy of XP home for my "rig built from spare parts" project, as I don't even want to mess w/98 again...

I voted Linux as it is what I use most often for everyday task. On the other hand W2K is running on most of the home fleet due to better DC'ing clients, then a few BeOS, a couple of Win98's and the rest *nix.
