This forum's been dead latley so I'll yap about the latest things I've been doing to the scooby.

For Christmas I bought the scooby some presents. Some I needed and some I wanted. Most I bought used through the NASIOC (www.nasioc.com) forums. When I first started posting on NASIOC I got my *** flamed even though my first 10 posts were answering people's questions with what I know about cars. It really turned me off but I guess I'm used to the niceness of fourms here.

Turned out I was posting in the worng forums. While scaning threads I came across a post about a backroads drive and the people sounded familiar. Turns out to be 3 of my friends that I knew were into cars but we never got together and did car stuff. From there (the tri-state forums) I've managed to meet a whole bunch of really cool people. A lot of my parts came from peopole posting in the for sale items local. When you're buying car parts you really like to see what you're getting.

In total I bought a set of front brakes (2 pot calipers, rotors, calipers, and mounting brakets 40K mi. new rotors, new pads 1K) to replace my 1 pot brakes that were small and I kept cracking brake pads on. Cost : $200. A axle back exuast from 2.5RS 40k mi. Cost : $100. Supension from a 2.5RS with 30K mi. (struts, springs, and bearing caps for all 4 corners and rear anti-sway bar) Cost $130. The only new items I bought were 2 KYB AGX 4-way adjustible (http://www.kyb.com/shocks/cutaway/cagx.html) struts for the front to replace the driverside strut that the mechanic destroyed the threads on removing the shocks. Cost : can't say but below cost.

Now the best thing about my new found scooby friends. I met up with a bunch of really cool racers and mechanics. AZP installs (www.azpinstalls.com) have been nothing but wonderful to me even to the point of letting me use the shop to work on my car. It's the best full service garage/speed shop I've ever come across. While they lean towards Subarus they will work on anything. In the last 2 days We've been through a 2.5l RS n/a engine to a 2.0l WRX turbo motor in a street/rally legal racecar, doing lowering springs on a Porsche Cayenne, and stage 2 upgrade on a 04 WRX (SS brake lines all around, HP intercooler hoses, Rear Adj. swaybar and larger mounts, Borla hush turbo back exuast, Kartboy shifter bushings, HP up pipe, and Al skidplate.

Not bad for a shop that doesn't have a lift. :) If any of the tristate members need work done on their car/s drop Mike (the great Paisan)a line over at AZP and tell him Farabomb sent you. You'll probally get a better price and there's a good chance I'll be helping while we work on your car. Even with my reputation of having a aura of chaos Synth can vouch that I don't screw up cars that aren't mine. :D

Since I've used the shop to install everything except my axle-back exuast (thanks Carl) They deserve any business I can throw their way. They're mobile so if it's not a motor swap they can probally come to you. We can be a bit vile at times (we offer 600+ channel sat. TV and soon internet in wating room and Porn office.... don't ask :D ) but most good garages have at least a bikini girl up and some colorful language. ;)

These are also the people to talk to if you want to get involved in racing. They're active in Autocross and Track days at area road courses. If you want to get involed in racing they are the people to talk to.

I wouldn't mind getting involved, it sounds hella fun. I'm just trying to decide what to do about a car and all. The Honda has some potential, then again I would kill for a 2.5RS. Maybe Synth's wifey could hook me up with a loan ;)
