Hi Bill,
I am on LN from approximately 6:00 AM Pacific Time, until approximately 10:00 PM Pacific Time, 7 days a week.
I have it on at work and at home 24/7 for SETI.
I monitor it that much, but don't use it that much.
Hope my answer is not too confusing.
Take care........

Hi Bill, I dont think I have an easy way of doing that really. The website doesnt actually know how much time someone spends looking at it. You open the connection, it sends data, and closes the connection.

Im probably on the computer if Im awake. My main job and side business both revolve around the internet. Im not sure if thats an addiction or what :) Although I do come home and use it all day then too.
Unless im in the middle of killing a pc.

ahh i'm on computers all day everyday... probably 12-14 hours but only about 5 hours is surfing
dicki
hmmmmmmm,
long and complicated answer (which probably isnt what you want!!!)
at the mo i spend 2 - 4 hours a day on average on the computer in my leasure time (some days i am not on it at all, other time it can be 6 hours)
in the past i have spent anything up to 10 hours a day (nite) on the net.
as i work with computers, i spend all day on them as well!!
the reasons for the varying times are all different, if you wanna know more, lemme know
toodles :xsofa:

Hehe... Well, I'm currently an unemployed student, so I spend about 5-7 hours a day on the 'net. :D I would say at times I have been kinda addicted to it... but I lose myself in anything I'm doing, whether it's the Internet, a class project, a book I'm reading, a show I'm watching, whatever.
-spec
p.s. - if I go more than 6 months w/out an OS reinstall I'll easily have 1000+ bookmarks floating around in my bookmarks folders! :D
guess the first step towards curing a addiction is admitting there is one to begin with huh?....Lets see....iam an avid online gamer..I spend on a average during the weekdays....4 to 5 hours online...and on weekend...(esp late night) I go for 7 to 8 hours per day........*ponders if there is a netaddicts anon being formed in my area....*...

Hmmm....tough question really.
Excluding work related computer usage, I'm doing "computer related stuff" about 3-4 hours a day on average...more on weekends..less on week days.
Computer related stuff means being on the net (checking news and forums), gaming (some single player, some on line), doing research for my next project or just for fun (sometimes on line sometimes reading stuff like Maximum PC, etc), or ripping down, building, modding, or upgrading system hardware for my LAN or client systems.
I tend to be a little "all or nothing" when it comes to my hobbies, so I probably take it all much too seriously.
My saving grace is my wife and kid's...just thier presence reminds me of what's really important and I never hesitate to drop computer related stuff to spend time with them. If not for that, I would probably be doing much more time on computer "stuff" which probably would not be good.

Hey Bill,
At work I use a computer about 3 hours a day, most of it is with forms and intra-net stuff.(and checking LN every hour or so)
At home I spend about a total of 2 hours on my computer, checking email and such. I am a recovering cs addict so I no longer spend like 5 hours playing cs (7 on weekends:D )
It's easy to spend a lot of time on my computer when I have it on 24/7 running seti. I remember before I ran seti I would want to get on the computer but change my mind because of the boot up time, now it's always on so it's easier.
I think the real question for adiction would be how often do you check your email? BB? or if you know your ISP's repair line number by heart, you might have a problem. How long can you go without logging on?

I'd have to say on average I don't spend more than 5 hours a day away from a computer. I'm behind 3 at work and I have 3 in my bedroom so one's usally within arm's reach at all times.
Yea, I know that's sad ;)

Hi Robert,
:D :D WELCOME :D :D to Liquid Ninjas.
Let's answer your questions:
1. How did you first get in to computers and how old were you?
I got into computers about 18 years ago because it was something that I had not done before, and I enjoy the challange they make.
2. Were is your computer in your house? Do you have more than one?
I have three computers in my living room.
3. Are you the only one who uses it? Do you let outher people use it
No, my wife has her computer and I have the other two. They run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the SETI project.
You make a good report for school, and if I can help any more, you let me know.
Take care.........

Hi robert,
Some answers to your questions,
1. I was intoduced into computers at school, in the 8th (i was 14) grade my english teacher was a big computer freak and she tought us all how to use them. She tought us how to make powerpoint presintations and other things like formating floppy disc's etc. Shortly after my introduction into computers my parents bought one to start our Camper Rental Buisness with.
2. Well i have 3 comptuers of my own. My parents have 1. My computers are all located in my room. My parents computer is in the living room in the basement.
3. I use my computers the most.. once in a while i will let my brothers or sisters use it only because my parents computer is kinda slow. I don't like to let my friends use my computers cause they like to mess with stuff and i don't like that.
Your very welcome robert. Good luck with your report.

welcome to the board robert :)
i got my first "proper computer" in my second year of university so i must have been 19, computers became a hobby when i was about 20 and got my second PC
before then since the age of about 10 i had an old atari ST which i taught myself to program then lost interest in
i have 2 computers in my bedroom and one family machine in an office/study upstairs
my personal machines are jealously guarded... i prefer not to let anyone touch them
anyone can use the one upstairs
i hope that helps :)

Hi Robert
1.Q: How did you first get in to computers and how old were you?
A:I first started using computers in 5th grade. I can't remember how old I was but I was young.:D We were programing in basic on old apple IIc's. I couldn't afford a computer back then so I was limited to using the ones at school. I took a break and spent most of my days skateboarding while I was young. about 6 years ago I really got back into computers.
2.Q: Were is your computer in your house? Do you have more then one?
A: Right now I have 3 in my bedroom and soon to be one in the living room.
3.Q: Are you the only one who uses it? do you let outer people use it?
A: I'll let anyone use them but I'm sitting right next to them so nothing bad happens
Good luck Robert and feel free to ask away. :)
