Well there is my avatar. That's me about 6 months ago 15 min before I tore my ACL from falling down some stairs.... on a skateboard at high speed. When I get home I'll post a pic fo me. It's not a good one and I'm a wee bit hungover (normal for weekends) so don't exepct much ;)

The Brits make some badass cars. My all time fav car is a Shelby cobra and that's a Brit frame (A.C. i think). MrP can get the good WRX too. We get the kind of wimpy one.:) But I have to say MrP that is one smooth ride. What is it? I think that's a sterling badge on the front but I'm probally worng :)

Ahh been there done that. I tore my ACL, Medial and Lateral Miniscus while I was playing hockey 2 years ago. Long story short shitty Military doctor leads to a disabled Retired Navy person.

Had Medial Meniscus's removed from both knees, after tearing them in half.

Boy, that was fun.

Unfortunately, I did mine while jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC.

Uncle Sugar is paying me disability for the rest of my life on that mistake.

They jumped us in a high wind, and there were more broke backs, legs and knees than drunks at a NCO Club.

It was just a partital. I've been skateboarding for close to 17 years so it's more like cumulative damage. I have a VERY long list of things I've done to myself and if I listen to the doctors I should be in a wheelchair. So I don't listen to them :p I also just read a study they did on knee sugery and the people that got the placebo are reporting less pain than the ones that accually had the sugery. My doctor wants me in for bolth knees but I've been saying no for so long he dropped the subject.

Was that ice or street hockey? I've come close while playing roller hockey. I tend to have a high pain threshold. It took me 4 days to go to the doctor when I broke my wrist. I was only worried because it was turning purple and I play gituar so I can't loose the use of my wrist. Nevermind the fact that not everyone has a g/f wife :D

Lee you goota love the miltary don't ya. I am getting 50% from them for the rest of my days too, so in a way I guess it makes up for a lil bit of it. But I wish I was still in I loved it.

Yeah I tore it playin roller Hockey. Never again its too rough on the knees. I stick to Ice hockey now its a lot easier on the body in general. Well I wish they would have given me a placebo then there would have been no chance of the doc screwin up. When he did mine he put the graft in crooked so now all the prssure goes along the inside of my knee instead of through the middle. And there is no fix for it except for a total replacement, but I am way too young for that so I live with the pain...Pain makes you a man:D

Heh...heh...yep...the need for speed:D You know there's not much difference between modding cars and modding computers.

Well, this is way off topic now, but I usually have very little chance to pimp my car, so this is my chance.

It's a 91 Ford Mustang which has been thoroughly modified with a rebuilt short block with custom crank and Crower rods, ported TFS aluminum racing heads, Crower .531 cam, ported cobra intake, custom high delivery fuel system, custom MSD ignition, a 14 psi Vortech centrifugal supercharger, plus a boat load of suspension and drivetrain mods to support 500+ HP. With good traction she'd also catch much air under the front runners on launch, and you could light em up at will in second gear at 60+ mph. She'd run low to mid 10's in the quarter mile and hit the traps at about 126mph. A nasty machine for sure:D

Yeah..that's one of my favorite things about the car...it's truly stealth looking. No sheet metal mods anywhere except to roll the rear fender lip to fit the slicks on the back end. Never went the NOS route. I gave it some serious thought but I didn't like the idea of running out of juice and having to refill the bottle. To me there would be nothing worse than being caught dry. So I opted for the "always there for you" method of forced induction go fast. It's really something when the boost of a centrifugal blower hits you at 3500rpm....it's simply a rush:D

It's nice to see another FORD lover..lol.. I've wanted a Mustang eversince i could crawl. Actully i had something devistated happen to me just recently. Yesterday to be exact. Uncle and i went to the bank so i could buy my Mustang and that was a no go.. dang i had my ride all figured out and ready to be pimped. The one i was goin to get was a 89Lx 5.0 5Spd, Red w/Red interior. She had 110,000 on the clock but also had a burnt exhaust valve. But for a mear $2000 it was worth it. Maybe in time i'll be able to save enough $$.

It's a 96 Impreza 4d 5sd with some bolt-on mods. What I want I can't have. A WRX STi 22b. I haven't come across a car that's more fun to drive than my scooby. I used to be a mechanic and I've driven most makes of cars and I love my Subaru. It's wicked quick and will keep up with most things on the road. Sleeper cars are the best :)

Yeah, I always like the classic mustangs really, but I got caught up in the whole fuel injected "5 oh" craze in the late 80's and never looked back. I had a 86 5.0 GT for two years before I sold it for the new 91 notchback.

Keep bucking for you want and don't give up...it will come to you in time. I bought the green car brand new in 91 after being out of college a few years. And it took 10 years to get it to where it is now. Time and patience (and prolly too much moeny) are the keys.

mike: thats a sweet looking car, 500bhp must be a blast :) especially when it looks so standerd

i'm personally a bit more subtle in my choice of cars... i prefer something smaller and lighter, imho the 2 litre turbo is probably the ideal size for an engine... small, light and revvy... stick it into a car weighing less than 500kg with driver and you just know it's going to fly :D

i really like english cars but most of the really good ones are kit cars, you can't beat the brits for tuning though all the really quick cars are built over here :) rally cars, F1 cars all the best stuff :)

I'am in 4-H i have a calf and a pig that i take to the fair to bring in $$. I also have a 4-Wheeler... I bought it almost 3yrs ago.. a lil Yamaha Blaster. Small 200cc Engine but quick enough. If i remember when i get home from work i'll post some pics.

that litespeed was amasing... i was gutted when it was knicked :( it was a pig up hill and only mediocre down hill (not that much travel on the suspension) but when you got it on the twisty stuff it used to truly fly... and it was gorgeous to look at. btw top tip... never ever fall off black widow pedels they do more damage to an unprotected shin than anything i have ever seen... i swear they must sharpen those things...

That's cool. My Aunt and Uncle were Air Force, been to alot of bases visiting them. Now there both retired, Aunt worked for boeing, but now laid off. Uncle Flys for Northwest Airlines.

I think it would be cool to be in the Military, but it's just not for me.

I can sympathize. My friends from pakistan and hindustan were really shaken up about US immigration and surveilance policies after 9-11 and are always about looking clean shaven and trying to look very americanized. It is sad, but its a reality. we live in fairly odd times

This is my GF and I, Me in the middle behind the wheel where I like to be, The one at the bottom is Girlie-Girl ( she is the sys admin and does all the linux stuf round here.), On the left is Finite....(he handles security.) And finally Cedric the van is currently @ an engineers being fully sorted, seamwelded,braced, 8 point alloy cage, etc. I have engines, but am currently negotiating the swap of a PC for a 12sec 2L engine that I will drop in for events.

I thought I'd better put up my bike and knee story too.

I pulled my knees apart speedskating as a kid ( I had bigger legs @ 14 than 24 and had'nt finished growing yet.) Some few years ago I found one hell of a good pain relief in the form of spinal nerve damage. Tho I'm not recomending it....it does work.

Anyway thats why I bought the bike....There was no way I was using a walking frame in my mid 20's, so I pushed that thing around for the last few years looking like I had broken my legs or something. It's all good, I ride it well now and she's a sweety on the ramp. Next up is a bomb proof front end to replace the Gt race spec one, and pegs....:D The ramp calls me nightly.... I wear shin guards when I ride but it wouldnt matter much as proven by the homemade hardwood chucks with which I fractured my shin last year and didn't notice till the swelling kicked in.:eek:

Me, Synth, and Dave are within 10 mi of each other. Gabe and P0 live about a hour and a 1/2 away in the hudson valley part of NY and NY lives about the same down by Philly.

And the LAN is on for the 7th. Got confirmation and I'm sending the deposit this week.

There is no data line at the fire hall. There may be dial-up but I don't know, haven't had a 56k modem in years.

If you want I think we could set up a game server if you want to pick a day and time. We've had a UT03 server up so if you want to play we can set it up.

As far as games at the LAN...

P0 has a thread going on what we be playing (and I still have to set up the server for)
