Anyone got a link to a Pally unlocking guide? :)
Also, might the pencil trick work or should I pick up some window defogger paint?

Sweet! Looks like just the ticket - thanks dicki. :) FedEx tracking says my package is 10 miles down the road... Doh! The wait is excrutiating. :D
Well, I'm gonna just try the chip out first to see if it's a good chip or not. I'll prolly run it for a week to burn it in... that will give me a chance to gather up some of the equipment I need and perhaps pick up a second PSU so I will have a back-up rig running while I mess around w/this one. :)

If you're going to wait and unlock it later get some conductive paste. If you're impaitent like me the defoger paint works fine. Just fill the pits first.

Conductive Grease:
A great place to order the conductive grease from in the states is Hosfelt Electronics (http://www.hosfelt.com/) .
Here's the page you need (http://hosfelt.com/s-cart/form.phtml?g_intCatID=58) . It's the last item on the page. Conductive Grease - silver...part number CW7100.
Stuff works much better than defogger repair. It is easily removed if you make a boo boo or need to RMA ;)

Thanks for the tips guys; think I'm gonna pick up the conductive grease and give it a try.
The rig works fine so far... 'cept now I reckon I'm I'm gonna have to figure out this PCI divider business. Sounds fun though. ;) Stepping is AGOIA, 0221 is the dating... Sandra benchmarks look good for the CPU; not so good for the RAM but I haven't touched the BIOS yet. ;)

Don't worry spec things get fun when you get the fsb up to 166+. When you unlock the CPU can drop the multiplier you can get 170+ easy. This is 9x185 cas2 2-5-3 2t and has been chugging along for 2 days w/ no probs :)

Hey Farabomb,
Nice to see you moving along with that system M8! Good numbers there.
I had to drop the Corsair timings to 3,6,3, 2T to get above 185mhz, but the bandwidth is even greater up there. And rock solid too....amazing mobo the KX7 is.:)
