How to forward ports on a LAN

I need help in forwarding some ports on my network.
My 2 computers on the network are runing Windows Xp.
Can someone tell me how to do this, please?

I'll assume you're using a Router as your network hub when I ask what router do you have? Name and model number pls.

I don't have a router, my 2 computers are crosslinked.

then there are no ports to foward, just enable sharing between the two if needed and turn off M$ firewall if it is on ;)
