Radeon and nForce conflicts?

So a friend of mine installed an Ati Radeon 9800pro in his machine. It will not work..It might play his games for 20 mins but then it will crash to the desktop..the screen will go blank and it will return to the desktop...he is using an asus nForce 2 mobo...whats up guys?

Could be anything causing it. I dont beleive it is a compatibility issue. Could be a power issue, driver issue, overheating issue. Youd have to rule out a lot of variables. And provide detailed information for an accurate guess from us :)

The most likely culprit is a driver problem. A power issue would be my second guess. You have the auxilary power connector hooked up to the video card yes?

i have no idea..its daves card....HJe gave it to his dad in return for a fx5600... i could probably buy it from his dad for 100 bux-good deal? Dave insists that it is a compatability issue..he emailed Alienware..the makers of his pc...and they said it was compatability??? NE who now my wireless nic gave out...the light is on. but it wont work...the drivers wont load for some reason...?
