In part 1 of my Quiet Power Build Up series I'll be adding the MCW40 GPU waterblock. The unit is in the house and should be installed shortly.

Here's a little preview (the review photos will be of higher quality :) )

I was looking at those waterblocks the other day (for CPU's) and had a quick question: there's no "nipples" sticking out of the H20 block, so how does one attach tubing?

Hmm... perhaps I'll have to wait for the review, which shall reveal all? ;)

Swiftech uses a quick disconnect system and you just push the hoses into those plugs on the side of the block. The problem that I have with this is the they have to use a smaller ID hose which in turn decreases waterflow. But on an optimezed system like the quiet power they can optimize it for a lower flow rate.

I beleive NY just explained that much better than I could have:)

I do like the quick disconnect fittings a lot, it sure makes things much easier. And I am also pleasantlly surprised how leak free these connections are too. Nary a single drop from any connection.

But NY is also right about the smaller tube diameters. They are certainly not sized for extreme performance.

But, that's exactly what we'll be finding out over the next few weeks. First I'll be adding the GPU waterblock seen above. Then I'll swap that back out and install the 226w pelt version of the MCW462 CPU waterblock and the 80w pelt version of the MCW40 GPU waterblock. Any associated case mods and/or cooling system mods needed along the way to support these efforts will be fully addressed.

It should be a neat series of article when I'm done (...I hope).

The review is being written now...won't be long.

The review will tell all;)
