Experimenting with my water cooling setup.
I posted a few polls among various sites including this one a few months back asking case air vs intake air for the Rad. The majority recommended the fresh intake air while this site was pretty split(atleast the last time I checked).
I went agaist the majority and went with Player0 logic and used the case air to cool the rad while exausting the case air at the same time. Also with my current setup I have poor case flow with a weak 80mm intake fan with all kind of obstacles inbetween. I will correct that in the future. Three days straight folding my system tems would be 33-34C and my cpu temps would be 50-51C.
Later I switch my fans to use outside air thus exausting the rad air in the case which is what the majority chose also. Three days of folding and a drop in temperture in my house as November sits in my system temps have been 40-41C and my cpu temps 47-48C if my room is cooled 49-50 when the GF comes home and turns up the heat :P. System temps remain constan though 40-41 regardless if room temp is higher.
So I gain 7degrees on my system by using outside air but drop 2 degrees in cpu temps or if my house is cooler sometimes 3-4 degrees.
Overall I think if I can create better airflow in my system to get some more fresh air inside I would be better off going back to my older setup and using the case air to cool the rad and exaust my system.
Atleast with this case and setup I think that is what would be best for this system.
BTW I finally added a pic to the gallery. I have to cleanup the wiring still but im going to wait untill I finish the case mod.
