So i have an FX5600 and I bought HALO. It acts like the games graphics are too much for the card to handle and i get a huge amount of slowdown ne time i set it too play above 800X600, and ne time i turn on ne of the special effects in halo..specular, shadows, etc...Is the vid card too weak to handle the game?

Halo slows down on ALL machines at above 800x600. Make sure you download the patch. Also, try adjusting some of the display options. One of the 'light' settings I beleive (not shadows) had a huge performance impact.
But yeah, Halo goes slow over 800x600.

I assume its because XBox version is 800x600, and the conversion really sucked ;)

Yeah the conversion of Halo to PC (doesn't that just sound shitty considering Halo was almost ready for release as a PC title  ) isn't all that great. Most systems will feel the strain trying to run it due to crappy coding ... saying that though I run it at 1280 x 960 with everything maxxed out and it runs smooth and fast
