I'm trying to fully unlock my XP for the umteenth time. I need 9x-10x but as it stands it won't boot with anything but 12.5/13x,11.5x,11x,10.5x and 6x. So I'm trying again.

Has anyone lost a XP by shorting the bridges? I'm wondering because I managed to totally mangle the bridges and take the top off the CPU exposing the metal? underneath :kill:
making it that much harder. Mike, I'd love to try and use conductive paste but I can't find a place local and pepboys just put the defroster kit on sale :D

BTW, for the future a great place to order the conductive grease from in the states is Hosfelt Electronics (http://www.hosfelt.com/) . Super cheap and super reliable these guys have always been for me.

Here's the page you need (http://hosfelt.com/s-cart/form.phtml?g_intCatID=58) . It's the last item on the page. Conductive Grease - silver...part number CW7100.

Thanks guys, The karma was with me. I just started to connect the bridges and my friend called and wanted to go get sushi. I connected them and went to his house. $30.00 later we came back to my house and I dropped it in to test and booted right up at 10x. This chip hits the wall at 1720 so even if the others are not unlocked I have some headroom till I get a new chip.

I just don't know if I'll spend the extra $$ for the MP just so I don't have to do this.:confused:

Now I'm off to make it crash :p

Im gonna tell you now from my own XPerience....not all MP's come unlocked! I have bought 2 of 5 that werent:mad:
