3 Cheers for PNY!!

So after exhausting all efforts to return a blown (through no fault of mine for once) PNY Ti-4200 64MB vid card to Crapusa, oh I'm sorry...Compusa with no receipt or box with proof of purchase, I pondered all alternatives, suck it up and buy one, exist with my PNY Ti-200 forever or read the fine print on the sticker on the back of the card which read "Lifetime Warrantee."
Hmm, Lifetime you say? who's? mine? the cards life? what's the deal?
So being the persistant bugger I am, i went to PNY.com and found a local office right in Parsippany N.J. less than 1/2 hour from my house.

Upon my arrival to their building, one might not think this was an office for a major manufacturer as there were no logos on the building itself however there was a very large PNY logo sign on the wall in their reception area I would proudly display in my basement "lab".
I was greeted by a very pleasent woman who seemed genuinely eager to help. I posed my querey as to whom to e-mail or call in regards to RMA'ing my poor card not expecting what was to happen next...

The nice lady provided me with 2 phone #s to call and i politely thanked her and was about to be on my way when she stopped me and offered me the lobby phone to call and gave me the extention.
after about 10 rings or so she informed me that the person who would answer the phone would be down shortly.

Moments later, a gentleman introduced himself as Marinus Wolvers, Technical Support Manager and gave me his card. I explained after a year of trouble free use, the card she go pop. It is not PNY's policy to accept "walk-ins" at their location which is fine by me, as my goal was merely to secure a valid e-mail or phone to get the ball rolling.

Mr. Wolvers wrote down my address and such and took the card with him and he said he would get the ball rolling on this for me and to wait a moment so he could issue me an RMA #. I received the number and pledged my appreciation once more and shared that I have a LAN party coming up on the 29th and I wished I could have the new card by then.
I think he chuckled a bit and said we will see about that:) To tell ya the truth I honestly didn't expect to see anything until after the new year giving time to process the claim and such.

Four days later i got a package in my mailbox, a brand spanking new PNY Ti-4200 with a totally redesigned HSF, it was gold and sexy. I powered down Liquid Synth and popped her in, after a Bill Gates light show on my moniter of flickers and popup messages and virus warnings and the like, which being Windows, it was expected. the drivers automaticly loaded from the already loaded CDROM and the revision date was just a few weeks ago, WHQL cert'd and all!

I never expected service like I received last week, I cant believe this experiance was as great as it was, and I personally know a bunch of manufacturers who can take a lesson from the folks at PNY in Parsippany.

Thank You!!! xxxooo ;)

Where's my money? ;)

I didn't give you the GF4 copper cooler because I'm sitting here staring at it.

Remember, that card does not like high voltages. I know this first hand :flame:
