Sorry to be picking all your brains so much, but another question has arose: which RAM should I get? I hear good things about the Corsair XMS line, and that is my current choice. Would that be the best pick? :)

Corsair XMS3000 or Mushkin 3200. If you can wait a little, Samsung will be releasing true pc3200 soon, so i hear.

I'll second the nomination the the Corsair PC3000 based on my excellent personal experience with it. I also will second the Mushkin nomination based on some excellent results seen around the net. You cannot go wrong with either:)

Cool, thanks for the info. :) I'd heard the PC3000 was good, and that it was single-sided, which of course is good for OC'ing. However, I see that the XMS line now comes in PC3200, so was looking @ getting a 512MB stick of that perhaps. :)

PC3200 @ Newegg: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?submit=manufactory&catalog=147&manufactory=1666&DEPA=1

(512 might be a bit pricy but if I get only an 1800 XP then that would make up the difference. And, reviews state the KX7 is unstable with more than 2 sticks of RAM, so this would be a better upgrade route for me.)

P.S. - you mean "true 3200" as in programmed as 3200 by the Jdec spec?

I'd go for the 256 of XMS3000. I think the 3200 is cas2.5 and the 3000 is cas2. The 512's have not been known to be good overclockers but, you never know. I just got a 256 of 3000 from newegg and I couldn't be happier. :D

Yes, true 3200, not just overclocked 2700. Dont know how much longer the wait is.

2 sticks of 256m is better than 1 stick of 512m for stability.

Mushkin 3200 is doing faster than Corsair right now. Hard to get a hold of tho.

Corsair 3000 is better than Corsair 3200.
