Well i got my new P4 3.0C system together including a new ATI 9800XT along with the latest 3.9 drivers, a 100% fresh install of XP and DX9.0b among other things. Needless to say, my Aquamark results were a sad 17fps!? WHOA i mean seriously... My other box (which is only a P4 2.4) running a GeForce4 4400Ti pulls 28fps!

Am I missing something? The AGP size is set to 256mb in the bios and 8x in both the driver and bios. Could something else be wrong here?? Perhaps the AGP bus clock or voltage is being set wrong by the bios? Could the 3.9 drivers be at fault? (I didnt try any others since the system went together today and I downloaded the latest driver before doing anything.) On the flipside, UT2k3 is SMOKIN fast! (Hi 80+fps with highest details on) And I got a 6100 on 3Dmark 2003 which is pretty decent from what I gather. (Untweaked yet)

Strangely, I see other peoples Aquamark3 results with the 9800Pro/XT that are 50+fps which is more along the lines of what I expected... And where it should be for that matter. What am I doing wrong?! :(

Hmm, it seems stepping back to the 3.8 driver made a significant difference... It is running MUCH better now. Why the 3.9 wasnt is beyond me.

The 3.9 driver might not have been installed correctly?

256m AGP is really high. You might consider knocking that back to 128m unless you have 1g of RAM.

Yea I set it on 128 for awhile, it didnt seem to matter. Yep, 1g of Corsair DDR400.

Frankly I'm still running the CAT 3.7s. They work best IMOHO.

Mabee i'll give that a try... BTW, i'm at almost 47fps in Aquamark3 and score 6700+ in 3DMark2003 now that i've ironed out a few problems.
