I just noticed our stats have not been updating the last few days so I checked the Update log and noticed this:

282 - Successfully loaded page: http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage.detailed?q=34213
283 - No users found on stats page - stats down?

If you go to the Biohaz team page we are listed here:

http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage?q=34213

All users show up correctly. However, when I go to the above URL the script is trying to grab from I get no team members listed

Any idea what might have changed? Things were working up to late last week.

According to the log, stats stopped being available 11/1 for some reason. Yeah, DCS uses the detailed page because the regular team page and the fast stats page dont offer much information.

Either Stanford changed a URL on me, or they are just screwed up again.

Do I need to email Stanford or should I let this ride for a day or two to see if things clear up?

If you have a contact at stanford, then by all means. I have an inquiry in on the stanford forums. Hopefully its a temporary glitch.

Heheh, no, I would be starting from scratch here... :D

Thanks for the help! I'll check back in a while and see what you find out.

I'm afraid that I am as in the dark as you folks. Stanford isnt really responsive.

If that detailed page really is gone for good, it means I have to do a lot of recoding. Luckily, I have the fast stats parser working 100% now, but its not entirely integrated.

It couldnt have happened at a worse time for me, as I'm incredibly busy with other projects. If stanford doesnt fix it, it will probably have to wait until the weekend.

Hey tom,
I noticed our stats havn't updated either. I didn't know if it was just one teams stats or all stats? The extreme o/c page is up to date, but ours isn't.

Its all the stats.

EOC and other stats programs work because they use other sources of information. Probably faststats, which is still working right now. Our source has more detailed information, but is currently down.

Working on parsing data from multiple sources now.

MadJeff, have a look HERE (http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/team_members.php?TeamID=34213) im sure its a glitch in the stanford system, who knows.

try HERE (http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/teampage?q=34213) for current stats for your team in the mean time :)

Synth, actually because EOC uses faststats, they only have rankings for the top 1000 teams. Im not suer on the exact count, but I beleive its 1000.

I have v3.0.6 testing right now. its a friggin mess, but it seems to be updating for the major teams.

No. because this is still fast stats, this fix isnt going to work for you MadJeff. Only the top 1000 teams.

it would be an incredible amount of programmingto have DCS try and parse yet ANOTHER stats page. I've got it where I like it at this point pretty much.

Blame Stanford. They should have things fixed shortly. Synth, guys, i would REALLY appreciate information about teampage.detailed. Can you guys help me search the net for information about this outtage?

Well, we've jump over 1000 places the past few days since we started last week, but I doubt we'll jump another 1000 next week. ;)

So, does this mean the sig's not going to work in the future unless we break the 1000 barrier, or just until Stanford gets things smoothed out?

Two possibilities:

Stanford will fix detailed page.

or

If its permanently gone, ill use the regular team stats.

So, hopefully stanford will fix. Worst case scenario is that it will take me a week or two to reprogram.

Fixed a couple small bugs today. But, yeah, its workign well. It can work off of two different stats pages now. So it should be at least up to date for the larger teams.

Still no word on the old teamstats. Might be gone for good, or maybe they will be putting something back?

Was gone for 5 days, looks like everything's running great now! Not sure if you fixed it or Stanford got things going, but thanks either way! :D

Stanford fixed the Detailed Page.

They also asked me not to let my stats program access the detailed page.

*sigh* Im in between a rock and a hard place here. On one hand, I want to respect the folding servers. On the other hand, I want to provide a stats program to people folding which is top notch.

I've decided that DCS will continue to process the DCS detailed pages. The reason behind this is because my software is highly efficient at doing this now. My program only downloads the detailed page once for every team, every three hours. Thats 200-300 hits per day on the Stanford detailed page. Thats really nothing in terms of web hosting.

Im sure Stanford has reasons to be worried, because some poorer quality software might access the page 20,000 times per day, which can be a significant load problem.

I would love to speak with someone at Stanford, discuss my program, and ask if it was okay given how efficient my program is. However, the only answer I received was a blanket 'no, please dont do it'. I beleive that was a standard catch-all answer without knowing the nature of how my program actually processes the stats.

And I have to apologize to Stanford. Although I don't beleive my load on the detailed page is even a drop in the comparitive bucket, I am sort of going against their wishes by continuing to access it. And I do feel bad about that. But the alternative is that I wont be able to provide stats to most of the teams, and I'll end up loosing a lot of my fields as well.

As soon as Stanford releases a better text stats page which contains more data, and at the very least supports all the teams folding, then I will rush out and recode my program. However, Stanford has to realize that the stats are 90% of the reason most of us participate in their program, and that they either have to provide a better way for us stat programmers to get access to that data, or not be so strict abotu us accessing the data through other means on their website.
