Looks yummy:)

I've been doing my best to hold off on going AMD 64. I'm waiting patiently for the technology to "come together" at the right price point. When the 939 pin FX chips and Win XP 64 show up, it'll be AMD time again I think.

I really like the Abit board though. I've heard it's really sweet for the AMD 64 chips.

And take a looksee here (http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=1901&p=4). A bit of a hint that A64s can be multiplier unlocked, eh?

The AMD 64 FX chips are indeed unlocked from the factory. Rumor has it that the 939 pin FX chips will also be unlocked.

The regular AMD 64 chips are locked tight as a drum though.

ABIT KV8-MAX3 for Sale Out Now

Pricing of ABIT KV8-MAX3 is quite reasonable – about $205 in the USA and roughly $220 in Japan. It is not really a low cost, but keeping in mind that the initial value of Socket 478 IC7-MAX3 was $279 in the US.
