I noticed when I overclock my Video card. It runs smoothly until it started geting hotter and start having artifacts. My question is Overheating causing artifacts?

hmmmmmmmmmm
I guess it could from what little i have read.
Player being the super computer man might know more.
I do know heat will cause a card to become unstable.

If you're brave enough, I'd pop off the retail GPU cooler and apply a little quality thermal goo instead of whatever is under there. Should help things a bit.

Not that brave. Bought this card for 158 last feb. But it worth 500 to me. :)

The HSF on that card does not hold up under heavy OC. That and the fact that the GPU core is just a hair lower than the shim it prevents it from making 100% good contact.
I replaced my 9500pro's HSF with a Zalman passive heatpipe. I find it works much better and it's silent.
Yes, when it gets hotter artifacts appear and the next step is the card crashing the computer. Knock it back a little and you should be fine. :)
