A student that pointed out copy protection software could be blocked if people used the SHIFT key when they inserted a CD, will be sued by SunnComm, company motto "Light years beyond encryption".

as far as i know, holding the shift key during cd insertion only stops autoplay.

its stopping the autoplay that does it,

the protections relies on the autoplay to work so it can load up its proctection software...no autoplay means no loaded protection...

Another B.S. lawsuit.

Since the RIAA is sodomizing the justice system other companies are trying what they can.

Suing a college student because he knows a windows shortcut is really weak. They lost "over $10 million in market value" because they didn't think someone knew how to shut off autoplay. If they are "Light years beyond encryption" as their motto states you'd think they would factor in a savy computer user.

Go waste more of our tax dollars in court you tools. :(

Fara do you think I should be worried along with the millions of others that have auto play disable on their P.C? I have to agree that this is a total B.S lawsuit – Still this guy needs a good attorney. Companies such as this are going around touting how they provide protection when indeed they offer very little. Personally I would rather have information like this leaked by a collage student, so that investors and clients could make a sound judgment when investing in a “security” company. If the company knew about this (as they say they did) and did not tell investors then the investors need to be suing them. Their breakthrough technology relied on a computer being configured a certain way – what a joke.

Maybe the Government should sue stupid companies for wasting tax dollars like this.

Not only do you have to give up your soul to listen to these CD but then they have the nerve to install their software on your P.C. I agree protect your copy rights but not by stumping my rights…
