My bro has been complaining that my computer makes to much noise. It keeps him up at night so he goes into my room and shuts down my rig, forgeting to turn it on in the morning so my seti units suffer. I have all but moved into my g/f's place so I am never around to turn it back on.
I have wired toggle switches to all the case fans but it's still loud. I have a inwin server case so I know the metal is thinner and prone to vibrate.
I was thinking of purchasing some dyna-mat or something to line the walls with. Any one have any suggestions? Thanks, -sg

the best noise stopper is the foam u use on beds that has cone shape to it, the cones are in the shape to naturally absorb the most sound possible, so pretty much insulate as much of yer case as possible with this stuff, if u have a window and cannot foam over it then what u do is a double window, 2 layres with a 3mm air gapp between them supported around the egde by silicon, then siliconed to the case. aswell mount all your fans with ubber grommets, and mount your hdds right-side up(huge difference) with rubber grommmets to get rid of the whine

Hi SG,
I don't see a problem at all.....Get rid of your brother.
Take care.........

HE HE HE lee, I would but the last thing my mom told me before she retired to Texas was to take care of the little guy.
I wish I had room in the case for the foam that gamefan suggest, guess I will have to end up shelling out money for the dynamat.

the foam only extends abuot 3/4s of an inch at the highest of peaks, u just sticky tape it to the case sides....
