K guys time to teach a retard somemore stuff.
What all do i need to install besides tcp/ip to get my network goin.. ( 8port switch, cards are on there way)
Someone said i would have to install net booie? client for microsoft networking? Workgroup? Domain?

What OS will you be using?
If it's Win XP just run the "Network Wizard"...it'll take care of everything.
The wizard will basically install:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing
QoS Packet Scheduler
TCP/IP protocol
Wham bam thank you ma'am:) At that point just set up which printers and files you want shared.
Warning - never share an entire drive (bad for a number of reasons).

I'am mostly gonna share my MP3's.. and games..all i'll have to do is get some then.

Thanks mike...i'll let yah know how things go. I almost bought that same router/switch that you have today but i got a really good deal on the 8-pot dlink one i got instead ($20.00 +ship)

You need TCP/IP and Client for Microsoft Networks.
You can disable QoS packet scheduler (WinXP).
