Hey all,
just wanted to get a general consensus...
I'm currently in progress build a dual minifridge system. (one to freeze the MB and one for a water chiller) .
I'm about halfway through milling out the Al water block which is going to be cooling a 226W Pelt from dangerden. I'm just wondering if with subfreezing water going to the waterblock if it's really going to make any difference with Al or Cu ???
Any thoughts???

Also, how do you get a small pic with your name over on the left side???

Hi, welcome to the forums.

Youll get the option to set your avatar (small pic) after...10 posts I think. It will show up in your User CP.

Copper always seems to work better for CPUs.

Hiya Player,
I was just checking out your system in the gallery, pretty sweet.
I was also reading about your water chiller in one of the other threads last night, are there pix of it in the gallery? I don't have time to look right now, the woman's dragging me out to dinner...

Thx for the comments, yeh...I try :) Still a long ways to go before Im finished with his project. But its going well.

There are pictures of the chiller in the Cube2002 gallery, but better ones in the older GameCube gallery (before the chiller was waterproofed).

I get SOO many questions about it, its incredible. Especially after the Maze3 review I did. I think Ill have to do an article on the chiller hehe.

welcome to the forums :)

if your allready most of the way through doing an aluminium block then i wouldn't worry too much about it... copper is a bugger to work with.

however having said that, copper has better heat transfer abilities and a greater thermal mass so if your starting from scratch it's definatly the material to use

I hear pure silver doesnt work as well as copper either, for heat spreading reasons. A block of copper will spread the heat more throughout the block, while it may just stay more isloated with silver.

actually if I had my choice, I would have started with copper to begin with, but where I live it would cost me more in shipping to get the copper here than what I paid for the copper, and the aluminum is free....
I do like the idea of someone sending me a kilo of silver thouth.....

Hey Dicki, If you can make me one of these (http://www.7volts.com/iceblock.htm) I'll send you the materials and some $$ for for favorite libation. :D

Sorry all, I don't have any leftover kilos of silver. I might be able to scrape some off the film recovery system

If anyone needs sheet aluminum I have a ton of it.
