Hi wayne359
You have to have jumpers set on both hard-drives as masters.I dont know if you can use cd-roms on sata with adapters. Not that i would want to but its not gonna increase the performance anyway.
Hi wayne359,
Welcome to the board :)

You'll need to download silicon_v10022.zip (http://www.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=A7N8X%20Deluxe) driver from asus.Extract it to a floppy, hit F6 on the beginning of the windows XP instalattion and follow the instructions and you're done.
also is my proc locked and what mods do i need to do to it to overclock it? what could i possibly get out off this chip i have a coolance exos and accessorris on the way.
I'm sure someone here can help you better than me on it :)
also has anyone tried to convert cdroms to sata with adapter?

Using a SATA adapter on a CD drive wouldn't be worth it. You'd see no performance increase.

SATA drives have no master/slave/CS/single jumpers.
