Yupers, Lite-on seems to be the best bang for the buck.

I got my black one for $52 at a computer show.

Ill also throw a vote for Lite-On. Mine has been going strong for the past year and a half without any probs.

It does produce more noise when spinning up than my previous panasonic, but then again...it was half the price of pana....

Lite-on is my first choice, Aopen second and Sony 3rd.
I've worked with them all and we have less Lite-on rma's then all others.
