I have to agree with the review, nicely done and pretty much explains everything. I set one of these cases up for my brother and it took me plenty of asking on forums to figure out how the hell to set the fan controller up properly.

So yeah the case is great but is let down by crappy documentation. Oh and the tool-less PCI/AGP thing has issues, my brother has a GeForce 4 ti 4600 and we couldn't get the tool-less thing to work as it was supposed to. Ended up taking it out, fitting the card and then fitting it back in so it would work (Matt will understand what I'm talking about, I think).

Hi ya'll :)

Great review!!

I have this same case...cept mine has the window. :D I agree with the review that it was a super easy assembly for basic stuff. I found that even with the "tool free" option, I didn't feel it held my video card securely enough..mostly for my comfort level so I did it the "old fashion way" before even trying it the other way. I initially had my modem in that way, but after have some problems with that...it got a screw too :P

I wasn't at all happy with the literature that came with the case as far as connecting some of the pins(top firewire/speakers/mic) and such...let alone the temp/fan control. I have since been pointed in the direction of an online guide which seems to have much more info than what they package with it.

  Welcome to the forums Julia

As you can tell by my previous post I felt the case was great, but was let down by really low quiality documentation. The top USB/speaker/mic combo I just didn't even bother with them, took one look at the instructions and came to the conclusion my brother wouldn't use them anyway so it wasn't worth the hassle :D

I didn't connect the top ports either (after being helped all day by my 4 year old ;) I wasn't exactly in the mood to do more puzzle working ) nor did I bother with the fan/temp controller..mostly cuz I forgot :p

Thanks for the welcome :) I've been around for a while,:scareddoo but apparently that was my first post.

Thanks Wes, long time no see :)

Hi dicki :)

The manual is on Thermaltake's site, but it's so slow to load for me from home, I'm having no joy in looking for it from here. I'll see if I can find the exact link from work tomorrow and post it.

Hi Farabomb:)

Excellent collection of smilies indeed...(just a suggestion...you could put then in alpha order )

Here's the link for the Thermaltake Xaser III (http://www.thermaltake.com/datasheets/XaserIIImanual.pdf) manual.

Do I even want to ask about synth?

welcome,

thing that got me about the manual was it spent umpteen pages explaining how to get the thing appart, something most people (myself included) wouldn't even look at the manual for, and 1 measly badly worded page on the speed controler.

All they needed to do was show a few diagrams of what plug goes where and it would have made things much easier.

its a nice case which they have obviously spent a lot of time perfecting. Its a shame its let down but such a triffling thing as a badly written manual.

Totally agree with all the above, very good case, not happy about the Manual, the tool free stuff is good, the PCI/AGP hold down thing is rubbish, all my cards wobbled, so that came out, fans are great, nice and quiet but yes, the Hardcano is kinda weird to play with.

But all that said, the only thing i have a major gripe with is the manual.

Oh and i had to bend the lock plate inside the door to make it lock properly on the half turn
