I don't often buy CDs. I hate the RIAA and I avoid buying major label albums if I can. Not that it's hard seeing as most pretty much sucks (Tori Amos is the only artist on a major I'll happily suppourt)

I listen to punk a lot and I don't mind spending $12 on a CD that has more than one good song on it. A lot is distrubited by indie labels and the artists acually get most of the money.

My fave label Fat Wreck Chords (http://www.fatwreck.com/) has put out 2 gems latley. Fat is owned by Fat Mike from NOFX, one of the bands on Fat. Real good guy, funny as all hell.

The first one is the newest NOFX album The War on Errorism (http://www.fatwreck.com/albumdetail.php3?sd=Pw3@0tHRMXIAAAS9Yi4&cat_num=657). I've listened to NOFX since I first heard them on a skateboarding video back in the day (late 80's I think, it was the A1 meats video) and was hooked ever since. The CD, like the new Lagwagon (http://www.fatwreck.com/albumdetail.php3?sd=Pw3@0tHRMXIAAAS9Yi4&cat_num=642) is one the first Fat disk that has some multimedia on it. It comes with 2 Videos, one live@vancover warped tour, and a 8 min. trailer for a movie spotlighting the 2000 Flordia election clusterf**k.

Like normal NOFX puts out all good songs on the studio albums. They're getting more and more politicaly aware and have some interesting takes on things. They're still the same old NOFX with songs like She's Nubs, something about a amputee, and songs about lesbians. Very good stuff here and the florida video kinda makes you think.

The next is the newest from one of my fave bands, Me first and the Gimmie Gimmies (http://www.fatwreck.com/banddetail.php3?sd=Pw3@0tHRMXIAAAS9Yi4&code=ME1). Me First is a mixture of guys on Fat that play cover songs. If you like punk every album they put out is well worth you money. They do such a wonderful job with all the songs even people that don't like punk like it.

Me first puts out theme albums. They pick a type or time and cover songs from that time. This one's R&B (I think) ;) song list (http://www.fatwreck.com/albumdetail.php3?sd=Pw3@0tHRMXIAAAS9Yi4&cat_num=650) Every one is done very well and I have a tough time picking my favorite (#6 crazy is the front runner right now).

Check out Me first's catalog and see if you notice any songs you like. I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy their version also. Fat wreck's site offers a sample of most bands so you can get a taste. I can provide requests if you want a certian Me First cover but I'd rather you spend the 10 beans for the CD. It's good, trust me and $10 is better than $12-20 at BB or something.

I know there's a few on the board that like stuff like this so I figured I'd put it up. That and I'm a little bored right now :D

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes. If you know me you know spelling and grammar is not my strong points

Tori's covers of some songs are really interesting IE: the aperfectcircle one stands out in my mind, at first i must be honest, i was repulsed to hear the song done that way.
it took me to the chorus to figure out what song it really was to begin with!
when i played it for my wife so i could see if she was as swift as me guessing the song, i couldent help but listen to it a little differently, i took it from the artists perspective to not really change it but perform it to a different emotion.
after hearing it about 6 or 7 more time in as many days, my view has changed dramatically.
now when i hear the original artists perform it i cant help but think how much more relaxing her version is, and begin to "play" it in my head.
I had to share that with y'all, cause you can't judge a book by it's cover. aparently artists too
:D

That's not even close to the best wagon album but it's damn good. The lead singer, Joey Cape, (also plays gituar in me first) is like 4 ft tall. He looks like a midget next to Chris the 7 ft gituarist. :D

The murphys are good too. Got some good tunes there Wacky.
