I've know of Ryan and AMDMB for sometime and can't believe he's being sued by THG ( Toms Hardware ) for Ryans forthright observations.
This was the original article:
http://www.amdmb.com/article-display.php?ArticleID=243
This is the noted uproar by THG and his impending threat:

Ahh, drama on the net. :)
Player0 posted about this yesterday over here (http://www.liquidninjas.com/bbs/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4733)
Seems that good old THG is getting too big for it's britches. In the mail posted in the Inq's article it shows how arrogant they are. Refering to amdmb.com as a "fanboy" site really irks me. THG, you weren't allways as big as you are now and just because you're bigger doesn't mean you're better. THG can be called a "fanboy" site to whoever pays them the most $$$$$.
On the flipside I can see THG trying their best to get the scoop but it looks like they're taking a page from M$ and using money and strongarm tatics to get what they want. :(

I personally lost all respect for thg after that stunt with innovatek and now they tried going after ryan at amdmb. what a load of crap, the're going to lose what little respect they got left.
just had my morning look at hardocp and it looks like tomshardware have backed down, but they still couldnt resist getting in a few jibes about him.
to be honest, any site that has to stoop to reviewing games and DVD's that was once at the forefront on overclocking (i remember looking at it to find out how to overclock my P75, and the breakthrough with the pencil trick to close the bridges on a athlon and duron) is looking pretty sad anyway, but to do this is really scooping the bottom oof the barrel out.
its sad, but its been done before (look at my arguments with OCUK and the seti arguments that have gone on) and it'll happen again. its just a shame that its puts us all in a bad light.
anyway, onward and upward

I haven't visited THG for about a year now... regardless of politics, there's simply better sites out there. ;)

I think everyone here knows how I feel about THG. That site has been bought and paid for time and again by Intel and other vendors THG panders to. It's so blatant that they think most casual users won't even see it.
First was THG ran Swiftech's H20 kit without fans in a shootout against other kits. How stupid is that? When Swiftech informed THG that the included instructions required the use os fans THG was embarrassed and refused to amend the performance results. They blamed Swiftech for not including fans in the kit (which Swiftech didn't do because there were mutliple fan choices for the kit being tested and the ordering instructions clearly indicated that a choice of fans should also be purchased).
Even way back then, before I was into WC myself, I knew THG had zero credibility on the issue.
Then came the infamous "this is what happens when you run an AMD CPU without a heatsink" mpeg. That's when it became painfully obvious that those running THG weren't stupid, but crooked.
THG is only for those who like to beleive what they are told. They are the Dell of hardware tech sites. OEM vanilla information doled out on a "for sale" basis depending on which vendor is willing to grease thier palms.

Couldn't of said it better myself mdzcpa. I remeber that mpeg video on a smoking AMD processor comparison, what an idiotic test. Someone should send that video to AMD to explain that there loyalty has been much more gratuitous at AMDMB.
