My stepdad went to CompUSA a couple months ago and got the basic CompUSA wireless kit. It comes with 2 USB wireless dongels and the AccessPoint. Well we got it setup the first weekend because he was gonna install it for someone then they decided they wanted wired network. We ended up keeping it for person use and my stepdad did some messing with it and set the comm strings and such on it. Its now mine and I wanna use it but I cant log into the darned thing, because I dont know the current comm string. I have tried the little reset button on the AP but thats keeping all the setting. Does anyone know how to completely reset one of these stupid cheap boxes back to factory setting so I can use it? Like the topic says these are Atmel pieces.

I would contact tech support for the manufacturer, but i'm betting you won't be able to do anything without knowing the proper login procedure to the device. Atmels contain a Micro processor, and EEPROM, a reset won't clear it....

The login procedure is not the problem. My stepdad nor I remember what he set as the community string to log into it. Basically we have a box we own that we dont know the password to :) Would pulling the power out of it during a reset do the trick or would that definately make it a paper weight?

if you unplug it, hold the reset button in for one minute, that should put it back to factory specs, a simple push wont do it i dont believe but ill ck into it :)

whats the part # IE: at75xxxxx?
