Any help here guys? I'd just like to know if any of you have seen this radiator before. I got it locally, and is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I don't have any good pics of it yet, but looking through some old pics I realized it was in a couple of them. The piping is in the same format as the aquacoil, with the flow split down two different sides. Only, this radiator is for 2x80mm fans not 1x120mm fan, and it has space to spare. The dimensions are 11cm tall, 9cm wide, 22cm long. Here are the pics, but they're not very good. Oh and the piping is copper, but the fins aluminum.

Link to the aquacoil for those who don't know http://becooling.safeshopper.com/17/46.htm?525

Here's another, partial shot.

hummm not seen one like that before... it's a weird size for a computer... 11cm tall? it wouldn't fit a 120mm fan on it so at a guess it's a heater core from a car... i take it there are no markings?

Possibly, but I think it's a computer radiator because on the far side that is hidden from vision is mounting for 2 80mm fans, with screw holes and everything. So I think it's a commercial radiator.

that looks to me like a DIY rad constructed of 2 transmission coolers soldered together with a bunch of copper elbows you can get at yur local hardware store and encased in some sort of metal. because i have been doing extensive research on watercolling for the last 5 monthjs daily and ive never run across anything like that .
just my 2 cents worth.:D

Nope, it's all one piece. Maybe this is some new product that some company over here is just testing? Senfu maybe?

how can you tell its all one piece from these pics, because i certainly cant.
could certainly be one piece, but it doesnt look like it to me

BTW...where did u get the pics from?

I own this radiator. It is definitely one piece. :)

hmmmz quite a strong point Dexter has there :-)

no idea on the rad thingy :-(

i see that it is in a WC loop , how does it preform ?

well the closest i've found is this

http://www.overclockedpc.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=26&products_id=86&PHPSESSID=2dea139692c5e29b5f6356cb13f5d7c8

however this is designed for 2*120mm fans not 80mm ones

Apart from physical size I'd say the aquacoil is a closer match because of the way it splits flow and the piping.

Afrodyme - I'm using this radiator for a gfx loop so I can't really comment on the performance, but I would assume it to be better than a BIX due to the fact that it's really just a much larger aquacoil? And the aquacoil performed ~as good as a BIX?

It definately looks like the AquaCoil. Remember, the AquaCoil is some sort of heater core or radiator for automotive or commercial applications. I dont know who actually makes the AquaCoil...but Im sure the manufacturer makes radiators of different sizes and shapes as well, like the one you have Dex.

It should work better than the actual AquaCoil if you have the same airflow (and it is actually larger, and not just a different shape). The Black Ice Extreme is better than the original AquaCoil tho...so who knows :)

Becooling makes the AquaCoil, and I believe it was designed for computer watercooling. The fins and tubing on this 'mystery' radiator look very much like that on the AquaCoil, and the fan mounting is just the same except for 80mm fans.

I think this is probably a becooling prototype sent to WaiFong (the overclocker/cooling store). Becooling is a taiwanese company, and this shop I go to has many close links with Hong Kong and Taiwanese computer companies so I think that is probably the situation.

P0 - I would love to do some testing, this radiator has a much higher surface area than the AquaCoil and more volume as well. In fact, this radiator seems to be a AquaCoil with the shape of a Senfu. Remember the Senfu performs close if not the same as a BIX, so I would imagine this radiator should be able to beat a BIX, if only be a small margin. I'll try to get some good pics up of this radiator when I have time.

One final note guys, this thing was very very very competitively priced. ;) The equivalent is $20 US dollars, no joke. :D (1am typing syndrome, excuse any mistakes)

Dex, BeCooling sells this radiator as the "AquaCoil" for PC use, but I don't beleive they actually manufacturer the radiator itself.

Where do you see the Senfu competing with the BIX?

http://www.overclockers.com/articles481/index03.asp But hmm... on closer look that isn't the Black Ice Xtreme... so I don't know how similar it is to compare.

Yeah, the black ice extreme is much more powerful than the standard black ice.

Its only a bit more powerful than the aquacoil.

Well I'd like to compare this radiator to the BIX and Aquacoil. Should be interesting. Price-wise this thing would win hands down, I could afford around 4 for the price of a BIX. :D
