ahh man! All that and no AGP slot!

Mmmm - lovely... Shame it's gotta be at least 2U, probably 3U deep by the time you stick some PCI cards in...

Now that is something dreams are made of, if only it had an AGP slot I'd be in heaven. Can you imagine the sheer power you'd get in games with that!? or how many woots you could fold in a day!!

when i saw that i was like

and i think it came from here.....

Newisys Sobek board

Each Opteron has its own memory controller for 2x2 DDR modules (128-bit dual channel). The load is then distributed between CPU's using the Hypertransport bus with at least 6.4GB/sec bandwidth.

YW.. Runatic ;)

also about the GIANT II, ummm i don't think it will make a big diff to my video ( after i read the review at the overclocker's cafe, hmm...what do you think? )

I'll prolly just go with stock coolin and some good copper memory sinks and another fan on the top to blow,,

thanks

with kindest regards

I doubt any air cooling would make alot of difference, but it does look impressive. I prefer watercooling, and use a Swiftech block on my vid cards, probably going to go TEC cooling soon though..

ummm.....ok, BTW. what does TEC stand for??

PS: <<<is new cooling world. looked everywhere on google..ppl talked about TEC cooling but nobody mentioned what it was.

I remember when that mobo got posted up on another board I frequent months ago...There was a huge ongoing battle between those who said it was photoshopped together and those who said it was real. :O :P :D

TEC= Thermo Electric Cooling

Thermoelectric cooling, also called "the Peltier Effect,"
is a solid-state method of heat transfer through
dissimilar semiconductor materials.

WOW!!

yes i read some stuff about the the Peltier Effect, in thermodynamics, hmm can't remember much

will do some research, thanks for sharing the info :P

ok i saw the cooling kit from Tt at newegg for $129, but there is no coolin kit for VGA, hmmm how are you goin to get that thermal plate(unit) on the VPU?

Watercooling is where TECs really become popular. Danger Den and Swiftech both have popular kits.

A couple things, DO NOT get the Sub Zero, its junk, they barely work, if at all (poor design?)

HERE (http://www.xtwerkz.com/xtreme_liquid_coolers.htm) are waterblocks from Swiftech for both CPU, and GPU, the CPU block is for P4 only, The AMD TEC capable block from Swiftech is a 462 UT, or 462 UHT, unfortunately I believe these are no longer made, and getting a bit hard to find, it was also compatible with P4..

TEC cooling is a bit more involved then straight water, along with the normal water cooling items, you'll also need to add the TEC modules, Extra power supply, Condensation proofing for TEC modules, and make sure to set it all up properly. Currently mdzcpa runs his P4 rig TEC cooled with very nice results, he has some nasty pics of what can happen when its not done right the first time to..

hehe...don't let that scare you though. It was all my own fault for being an idiot. I had my TEC PSU hooked up directly to it's own power strip so I was required to power it on and off manually. Having a TEC set up this way is not the way to do it (obviously). Unfortunately one night, while asleep, my system hit the BIOS auto shutdown temp and turned off.....but the TEC didn't cause it was on it's own power source. Can you say "thermal meltdown"?

Anyway, I now have everything hooked up using relays, so the water pump and TEC turn on and off with the system. It's now 100% idiot proof:)

BTW, nice links on the AMD stuff. Sorry about getting off track there:)
