I have a ProStar 8834 (from xtremenotebooks.com) and its dimensions are approx. 14" x 12" x "2". I am looking for a cooling pad to go underneith it to keep it cooler, as it gets very hot due to its size and processor.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I use a piece of wood under my 5694 which runs hot as well.

I will be watercooling my system as soon as I get it back from repair, get rid of that nasty heat. I am also considering modding other laptops in the same way on the side.

You haven't heard of any pads specifically meant to cool laptops? The ones I have seen have fans on them. Wood is a lot cheaper though, does it work well?

I've seen some of the commercial cooling solutions for laptops, they seem kind of pricy for what they are, If it were me I would buy a piece of plexi, cut out some fan spots in key locations, and use a wood block or two to elevate it. essentially same thing as the commercial units for a lot less $$$
