A few here know that my family has property in upstate NY. I just came back from a really soggy weekend and I have a few pictures. :)

We have no running water, no power (well, a generator), no phone, and no internet connection ;). I love it up there. We've had the place since 84-85 and have done a lot to change it from old farmland full of brush and thorns to what we have now. It's in Delaware Co. NY about 3.5 hrs from NYC. We own about 200 acres on the top of a mountian. It's a wonderful place to camp when the weather's nice and still not too bad when it's crappy ;)

If anyone's interested in doing a little camping let me know and maybe we can work something out. I'm allways looking for an excuse to go up there. :D :D

God's Country :cool3:

That's what my father calls it. At 19000ft above sea level it's not quite heaven, but it's pretty close. :D

Sptw,
It depends on the place and how the land has/had been taken care off. But i'd say hundreds of dollars an acre.

Honestly sptw, I have no idea. I don't even know if you get a break on the price if you're going to farm it. Our place was acually a old cow pasture that went unused for quite some time. My father bought it in 84 for about $40k and paid it off a while ago. Other than the taxes that go up every damn year it doesn't cost us anything.

I'm really lucky that my dad bought it. It's a wonderful place to be and very relaxing. Well, execpt fo the fact that my father really can't move to well anymore. He can't do the upkeep like he did so my brothers and I have to go up there from time to time and do some serious work. Clearing trails, fixing broken things, cuting feilds, stuff like that but you know what, I enjoy doing it most of the time. :)
