I have a Swiftech MCW5000-PT and need to extend the very small wires +v/-v that extend from the Peltier.

It is going into a relay switch, which will shut down the pelt, when no PSU power is attached... PSU powering the PELT is a Meanwell 320

The swiftech instructions say use 16 Gage Stranded wire.

Ive bought some 16/0.2mm wires from maplins, but its only rated for a small ampage.

Is this going to be OK, as swiftech simply state 16 gage wire... but the meanwell PSU is like 24A/50A inrush.

Im in the UK.

Thanks

You'd probably do better to get some higher quality 16 gauge wire. The leads that connect to the pelt can get very warm. The lower rated wire likley comes with a softer flexible coating which might become too soft when under heavy amped load.

I'm sure you 16g would work, it would just not be the optimal safe choice.
