I have a chance to grab a Tyan MPX cheap, anyone have any experience with these? its either this or an MSI Dually, I think i would prefer the MSI but the Tyan is new and half the price of the MSI...

I like Tyan, it should be almost as good as the MSI. What model? You might need a special power connector though.

I would bet that you will have to use clip on heatsinks. I don't think there are any holes in that board for a HSF.

If you can get it for half the price of an MSI board, go for it.

well, my only beef is, I have a tiger MP, and the darn thing doesn't work with the XP -> MP mod. Very aggrivating. So I have a duallie board with 1gb of registered ddr, and a single XP2000. Downright sad.

Ouch :(

Maybe I'll just stick with the MSI

The MP and MPX are comptely different chipsets. Thats not to say that the Tyan MPX will have the same problems as the Tyan MP.

Merits a bit of investigation though.
