I also just got a copy of it....ummm "cost reduced". It hasn't really grabbed me either. I'll give it more time before I make my final call, but it has not blown me away right out of the gate or anything.

I havent tried it yet, but Ive been hearing mixed things on it.

It's kind of neat how it ties in to the movie though. Not the only gimmic a game should rely on though.

I got ETM for the GameCube about 3 weeks ago, and it still hasn't lost it's fun for me. It does seem like an over hyped PS1 game at times, but I have had nothing but fun with it. Also got Wolverine's Revenge and Splinter Cell for Father's Day, and, although I beat Wolverine's Revenge in the first night, I was quite impressed. Who would have ever thought Mark Hamill could do a good Wolverine voice. ETM was a great addition to the movie, but if you didn't like Reloaded, you aren't going to like the game, unless you just like beating ass for the hell of it, and catching some sidenotes to the flik.

I picked up etm on game cube when it came out played it through with both characters. Took it back swaped it for silent hill 3.

It was a fun game but flawed. Driving was pretty appauling but the fighting was quite good fun. On the whole I found it a bit of a disapointment, I gather they rushed to release it in time for the release of the film this might explain a certain lack of polish in some areas.

I also got the feeling that it was a weakly disguised promotional tool for the film.
Was it just me or did the plot of the game make no sense without seeing the film.

anyway it was good for a few afternoons idle enterainment.

I played through ETM in about 14 or so hours, then tried it with another character thinking there'd be different missions, but there aren't. It's pointless to play through the same game twice.

It is a good game though. Fairly stable, I only got a BSOD-esque crash once (playing on Game Cube). It's a bit easy, but there are some insanely hard parts where you have to play them through a few times to get them down.

I agree with evilmatt. The game was probably just pushed to make it out on time for the movie, leaving behind many places that could use some work, and in the end it turns out to be one giant interactive trailer. If your looking for a few nights to waste and have $50 to blow on a game, this fits the bill perfectly, but if you'd want to get something worth the money then steer clear of ETM.

saw a review on eurogamer.net with the tag line of

" Take the blue pill! Take the blue pill!"

made me chuckle ;)

I've also read some people have really enjoyed the game. I don't know anymore... First of all, 50$ is waaaay to much for 14 hours of entertainment. That's $3.50 per hour. That's if one person plays. Think about it - you could rent a movie for $3 and you and 3 friends could watch it (watching a movie is the same enjoyment, whereas watching someone else play a game is not). That comes out to 30 cents per hour of entertainment. 2nd, if that was 14 hours, how much of that was cut-scenes? Probably drops it to 11 or 12 hours... It just seems like we get less and less game for the same $ as time goes on...

ROTFL ... God that's funny, Wolverine's Revenge has to be one of THE worst games ever!! Even Daikatana wasn't that bad.

ETM is pretty average really...nothing about it grabs me....even the storyline hasnt got me hooked and the gameplay does leave a lot to be desired...i returned it for a refund...on a side note i got Red Faction 2 and Brute Force for my xbox, both lame IMO...will be taking those back too and spending the money on a new bike....
