Seems I was drunk last night and I thought it was a good idea to take my heat spreaders off my DDR. Why, I don't know. Maybe I was thinking "I want to know if it will work without them" or something. One too many brooklyn IPA's and I start thinking/doing stupid shit. Anyway, It seems in the process of taking off the thermaltake kit I put on the DDR I fried one stick of micron PC2100. The only thing I'm thinking is When cleaning off the chips I may have gotten some AS3 on the traces and shorted it out. I don't know, all I know is it won't boot with the stick in there anymore. The other stick works fine but even if I just have the suspect stick alone it won't work. Won't even beep at POST.

The only good thing is NewEgg just got some corsair 3000 in. Going for $106.00US a pop for a 256 stick ain't too bad ( I think I paid $45 each for the micron) so it looks like I getting a package in the mail.

Remember, Beer :drinky:+screwdriver+computer= bad things. I thought I learned this a while ago but it must have slipped my mind.

Stupid me.

Hey before you buy that Corsair look at the Samsung it performs almost the same. Corsair is using the Samsing chips.

I love the Corsair PC3000. I just hope mine still works, I had a bunch of water spraying all inside of my case the other day after hooking up the ram waterblocks hehe...heh...heh.

Anyway, the samsung chips used on PC3000 are hand picked, so you might be getting better ram this way. Not to say you cant get lucky with the Samsung but...sometimes i like paying a little more to be sure :)
