Hey guys, its time for my 1st post! Im planning my first watercooling system and have largely decided on dangerden blocks (CPU and GPU only since the abit IC7-G has active northbridge cooling) and an eheim pump, but my radiator is still up in the air. Ive seen a nice swiftech one with dual 80mm fans that I believe could fit in my antec case, however the dangerden rad. is 120mm. Can I fit the 120mm in the front of my case under the hard drives in the standard antec case? Sound lvl IS a consideration for me, im looking to stay around or under 30 dBA, so I think ive ruled out the large double 120mm swiftech radiator (I dunno where I would put that HUGE bastid anyway). TY for the help!

Hi Big Justizzle,

First, let me :D :D WELCOME :D :D you to Liquid Ninjas.
Glad to have you aboard and posting.

Now, asking which is the best Rad is like asking which is better, a Ford or a Chevy.

There are no bad rads, out there, to speak of.
It comes down to personal choice.

I prefer the BIX (Black Ice Extreme), others prefer the 1986 Chevy Chevette Heater Core.
Both do a very good job of cooling.
There are several other choices to choose from also.

So I hope that my answer is no too confusing. I am just trying to let you know that the options are many.

If you look at my sig, Systems Data/Pictures, you will see three different rads I use. All three keep me in the low 30s during the Summer, upper 20s in the Winter.

Take care, and Welcome again.

welcome to the boards :)

i'm going to stick my vote in for thermochill if you can get them over there they do them in sizes from 80mm upwards (80 92 120 2*120 3*120) and are very well made and thought out :)

Dont think I can get a thermochill unfortunately, I really do like the dual 80mm one. I think Im gonna get the BIX unless somebody can get me a thermochill one in the states

Check out the D-tek radiators here

http://www.dtekcustoms.com/product.asp?0=205&1=227&3=16

Very good and very low flow restriction. Can be fitted with 1/2 or 3/8" barbs. It is a little on the large side but excellent cooling.

I too will vote for the Thermochill. I have a 120.2 that's huge but it is a very well made product. You will be able to find the rad in the states soon (I hope). If you can't find one drop KMS a line at PCLincs (www.pclincs.co.uk) and he might be able to help you.

Lee, I see you're collecting parts for another system. If you don't have a rad for it yet I would highly sugguest the thermochill. You won't be dissapointed. :)

Maybe this is the 'new idea' Lee mentioned last night and then left me hanging ;)

Who's selling KMS's radiators in the US. I need a 120x3.

If you can find them the OCUK v3 radiators are the best design and performance. However, they seem to have become unavailiable here in the UK (site went down without warning and aint been back?!?) so i doubt u can find them in US. Thought id mention them tho.

Woah! Tranny coolers? Thats prob a bit overkill for me, I think they're too wide. Lol, I never thought I would have cause to put a transmission cooler in my comp.

The smallest one is part of the Swiftech H20-22500 kit and uses 2 120mm fans for cooling. Works pretty well as that is what I'm using. Only drawback is the inlet/outlet is 3/8" od tubing and restricts flow under "extreme" cooling needs.

Hi greylock,

What you are saying is it takes 3/8 ID tubing?
Most measurements are measured ID.

Ya it takes 3/8" id tubing. I was talking about the od diameter of the pipes from the rad. 3/8" id tubing will fit over the outside of the aluminum rad tubes. Id of the I/O rad tubes is 1/4".

If i ever get my damn server case from the guy on ebay i am using one that is like 15 inches high and like 6 inches wide.

Hrm, the thermochill radiator is like $106 to get shipped to me and after taxes, so although I like it alot I dont like it THAT much. If anyone has some kind of hookup or a used one they want to sell plz let me know.
