I'm going into watercooling and i need some help :2guns:
here's what i have currently:
Eheim 1250 pump
Swiftech MCW50-T (will add a couple of weeks after i'm watercooling the cpu succesfully and i'm confident with it)
Papst 120mm fan for radiator
Now here are the questions:
1) which radiator? bix2? thermochill 120.1? i don't think i can get chevette heatercores here.
2) which reservoir (probably doesn't matter much) - bay res?
at the moment i like the tank-o-matic res
3) which cpu block? white water or maze 4? this i guess i'll have to wait and see.
4) which nb block? i have a 850e chipset (gigabyte 8ihxp), uses clips i believe, any northbridge blocks i can use or will i have to use epoxy.
5) Power supply - will a 430W antec truepower (rated at 20A) be enough to power the pump and the 80W peltier?
6) Tubing - probably going to go with 1/2" Tygon.
will all this equipment be fine in a 1/2" system, i know i may need to get 2 adaptors for the reservoir (already have inlet for pump).
How many metres of tubing would i need (i imagine 10 will be enough).
Do i need any other tubing like T connectors?
7) Loops - will the cpu and gfx on peltier cooling (assuming for the moment without nb) be fine in the same loop, or will the cpu suffer a very big temperature increase?
8) Water - distilled water with waterwetter. How long do UV dye's last in the water and do they increase corrosion?
thanks for your help :cool3:

First off :beerm8s: Welcome Lethal Injection :beerm8s:
Glad to have ya m8.
Now, what side of the pond are you on? Europe or USA?
Here's my $.02. The pump and block are good choices. I'd go with the Thermochill 120.1 over the BIX. I have a BIX and a 120.2 and all around I prefer the Thermochill.
Make your own Res. I did it with a waterproof junction box and it worked wonderful. Just get some fittings, drill holes and epoxy the fittings in.

I'd go with the LRWW or the Maze. It might be tough to get the LRWW. Honestly if you can wait a little (about a month or 2) there is something coming out that's worth looking into. I can't say more or I'll be shot.
Northbridge I wouldn't worry about. Maybe if you start really clocking the snot out of it but right now I'd stick with air on the NB.
You should really consider a TEC block for the CPU of you're going to have the GPU TEC'ed. A TEC will put a lot of heat into the cooling loop and won't be good for the CPU temps. I think the Antec 430 can handle the 80w but don't try it with a 226w. Need at least 20a on the 12v line to swing that.
I'd use any 1/2"id tube you can find. I don't think Tygon's really worth the $$. You might need a fitting or two, espicaly if you go with the 120.1. Use the distilled H2O and a bit of auto coolant. Water Weter won't help temps and the coolant will lube the pump and prevent fungus.
Any other questions just shoot. :)

thanks for the comments
I'm in the UK
the reason i'm not getting a peltier on the cpu is because of the crazy cost of the meanwell psu's and i want as little noise as possible which is why i'm going watercooling mainly, and as i understand it these psu's probably have a fan. If there was a similar psu that doesn't have a fan then i'm there.
If i get a 550W antec truecontrol will it be able to handle the whole system and the two peltiers?
If you're talking about cathar's next cpu block being available in 2 months i'm not sure ;)
I'll probably get the white water, although i'm still waiting for reviews on it compared to maze 4 and there are no european resselers, meaning i may have to order it from the US.
For the radiator, what about the bix2? it looks very expensive, but is it worth it? do you think the bix/thermochill will be good enough when i'm using an 80W peltier?
I'll probably go tygon, rather than clearflex, just because it looks cool and since i'm only need something like 5 metres it's not going to be expensive.

I'd worry about the TEC throwing too much heat into the cooling loop and not giving you good temps. I'd start with the GPU cooling w/o the TEC first and then get a PSU that will power bolth a 226w and a 80w. I think the 550 will handle it. It has 24a on the 12v line so it should handle it.
I don't know if cathar will have a "new" block out but I know that D-tech is making the LRWW now. Afaik D-tech sucks about their across the pond service. I know that KMS over at PCLincs (www.pclincs.co.uk) will be getting 100 LRWW's from them but they will be going fast. The block I know of has nothing to do with cathar. I'm under NDA ;) so I can't say anything but if you're not in a rush I'd wait. The maze$ reviews will be out soon, they just released the blocks so they're not too far behind. I also think that PCLincs will have the maze4 soon if you go that way.
The BIX/Thermochill willl probally handle a 226w with enough fan but if you can fit it I'd try for a thermo 120.2 or a bix2. Tubing really comes down to personal preference. I use vinyl tube I get from Home depot. :)

Ok i'll go with an Antec 550W and a Swiftech 5000pt then, this is going to rock :2guns: :2guns:
Now i just need to find the swiftech cheap, as colorcases sells it for something like £100!!!!!

i'll pimp pclincs too... like fara says the lrww will be in as soon as possible and the maze 4 has been ordered and should be in soon... thermochil radiators are the mutts nuts, i was amased at the quality when i got mine, its in a different class to other products

i don't think they'll be selling the white water anytime soon
may have to order it from the states, if i don't go with a peltier on the cpu.
I'm still not sure about the power supply being sufficient for 2 peltiers, other people said it won't be.

be safe and get a meanwell power supply.
I have to run 2 with the system i am making.

after all that i've just secured 100 lrww's for approx 2wks time
huh? he's definatly got them on order... and even if he can't get them there is some other interesting stuff on the way
