View Full Version : XP 1700's and 1800's ?'s
TBH have not really paid much attention to the hardware, oc'ing threads/forums since learning how to OC durons/TB's some time ago. So was wondering what the average oc people are getting on the 1700/1800's. I understand to unlock these chips it is abit more involved than the TB's and Durons?

I have a 1600XP that does 1.7g on air. I just was a pain unlocking it. I think the 1600 is 1.4g stock so i'm happy with 1.7 w/an alpha pal8045.

I have a green packaged XP1700 with a 9XXX serial number. TBH, its not the best in the world and seems to be at its limit at 1666Ghz, which is really only 200Mhz over stock.
I have a Taisol 760 80x60mm heatsink with a copper core running a Sanyo-Denki 80mm fan which spins at an average of 4800rpm. I have intake and exhaust 120mm fans plus a Seasonic AMD approved power supply with its own 80mm exhaust fan too. Temps will still run up to 50C according to Motherboard Mon 4. That's at 1.85Vcore, which reports as a true 1.87V. I had a voltage mod done on, with clips, which gave me 2.02Vcore to play with, but could not keep it cool.
To be honest, unless you can get a chip with a serial number begining with Y, forget it. 200Mhz from a 9XXXXX chip is pretty good. So if you have a chance to check out the chip before you buy, this is essential.
Ah fond memories of my Tbird which was an AXIA K. A 1Ghz B series chip that did 1500Mhz on a KT7A-R. Ah well!!!
Hope that helps,
LD
